    Schedule is tough
Jackson won't be a problem because he shouldn't be playing
    Defense has some holes
It will be close between them and 49ers but 49ers edge them out

Seachickens lose twice to the Cardinals. Book it. Cards showed what paying top dollar for a backup QB does for you. Tavarius Jackson, Pete Carrol, and the Off Coordinator are garbage.

A lot of people are going to be surpised with the 49ers this year. Alex Smith's year was an outlier. Take the under on team wins. Gore will get hurt and miss games.

Dude Randy Moss and Vernon Jackson are gonna own this year. Plus that defense hits hard and is returning all 11 starters.

Niners 12 wins at least....book it.

Gore basically did nothing half the season. Niners have a lot of depth at RB anyway.

in addition to pete carrol being harbaugh's b!tch, the 49ers are literally better in every facet of the game.

It's still Alex Smith...guy is an average to below average QB in the league. You really think he's going to limit his turnovers and repeat his performance from last year. Their defense is top 3 in the league but we saw what turnover margins can do for a team. Packers last year are a prime example. 2 gimme games against the Rams, have them losing week 1...don't see 12 wins.

agree, but NO PLAY. +500 odds and a 4 month wait is not enough value for me. easily make +500 in half the time with low risk daily wagers.

They don't need to win 12 games to win the division. 9-10 will do.

I think 9 wins is an achievable goal for the Seahawks, but they have a tough schedule ahead of them. Their biggest question marks right now are if Lynch will evade a suspension for his DUI and the QB battle. If Lynch gets let off the hook by Goodell with just a fine, it would be huge for them, as he would be available in Week 1.

Reports out of the Seahawks camp seem to show that the QB battle is not one-sided as of now. Even with 4 years in the shadow of Rodgers, Flynn still only has 132 NFL pass attempts to his name and has to learn the Seahawks playbook. Wilson is a very smart QB, with the tools to be a solid starter. His only criticism has been his size, but with his mobility and working behind what has become a very solid OL, I think there's very little holding him back. Jackson's familiarity with the playbook and rapport with the receiving corps becomes less valuable every day as Wilson/Flynn get more comfortable.

You can watch a live stream of the Seahawks practice today here: http://www.seahawks.com/videos-photos/live.html

I'm not buying the Alex Smith bit. Is he a great qb??? By no means... Can he duplicate last year??? Why not? Guys actually going to have the same offensive scheme and offensive coaches around him consecutive years for the first time in his career. I expect him to play very similar to last year and I expect Harbaugh to let him chuck it deep a little more this year with the weapons they brought in. At the end of the day the niners will win with defense and win their division by 2 or 3 games.

I'd love to see the Hawks win the division, but I don't see it. I think they'll surprise a lot of people and win 8-9 games this year, but I think the 49ers will take the NFC West again. A lot depends on whether or not Lynch gets suspended and how well the O-line gel together. Seattle will have one of the better defenses in the NFL this year, they are young, big, and quick.

The Seahawks success will likely come down to quarterback play and how well the WR's do. The Seahawks receivers look good on paper (Sidney Rice, Kellen Winslow, Braylon Edwards, Zach Miller, Doug Baldwin, etc.), but they have to stay healthy. I think their biggest hole is the WR2 position. Rice should have a good year if he stays healthy, but who wills step up as the #2 WR.

Don't forget that Seattle has one of the best home field advantages. However, their schedule is brutal. Just got my tickets to the Monday Night game against Green Bay.

To be honest, I think the Seahawks have an outside shot, the 49ers' did play a lot of weak competition this year and I do like the additions they made to the team, I don't think he is crazy to think this, in fact its my Dark Horse to make the playoffs, but the 49er's are gonna be one hard team to top that's for sure.

49ers had the best defense last year, hands down. A defense that allowed only 1 rushing TD - that is monstrous. Alex Smith has to simply play super conservative football for the 49ers to win.
