I didn't watch the Tennessee game today, but based on what I saw last week, they are totally sucking. Even Finnegan getting Johnson (and himself) thrown out of the game last week didn't help. Here's hoping they cover against Indianapolis next week. They should get a pretty good line based on the way they're playing. Plus, if they win straight up (yeah right) against the Colts, that would mean the Colts are a play against the Jaguars.

As for Arizona, they are probably only still in it because the NFC West sucks. Also, they are playing the Broncos next week, who are officially out of the playoffs. They stand a good chance.

It's a "B" and a "C" bet next week, but we've been there before. On 11/14, we had Dallas (C Bet) and Denver (B Bet). At least this week, Tennessee's on Thursday and Arizona's on Sunday.

I agree. The line is at +3 as of today. That isn't enough to get me that jazzed about laying a lot on this Titans team. The odds are +100 right now so the books are trying to get some money on the Titans. We should see that hook come up shortly but we still need more, like spot the Titans a TD!!!

It's amazing Tenn and the Colts both are alive for the playoffs by winning this weak division. I don't know I have stuck with the Titans for the past two weeks but don't feel comfortable betting against a desperate P. Manning.

Why would you ever have any confidence in a team that has just lost 5 SU and ATS?? which a team has to do to make it to the C bet?? That is the whole point, no one will have confidence in a team that has just lost 5 SU and ATS, which is why all the general public is backing the Colts!

If you gonna pike out once you get to the C bets you should never start playing a series in the first place, C bets are where the big money is to be made, they have a far superior (~80%) win rate as compared to A's and B's (both under 70). If you are scared of making the C when it comes along dont make the A and the B in the first place, you are just throwing your money away as you will never make money pulling out every time you hit a C bet.

the modified system has indy as a play tomorrow, but im playing the titans and then (hopefully) after a win, play the colts the next two weeks.

No way were the books going to take that kind of hit last night. People are still under the impression that the Colts are good. The key for me was their defense (lack of). They just give up way too many points. Public perception is just amazing. You really get a sense of it when you do some reading here on SBR. Lost track of all the threads and comments I read backing the Colts. On the surface it made sense but as we so often see perception and reality are often two different things.

So true. But the public will win as well. For example, NE vs NYJ.

It's just that this game was so overwhelmingly perceived as a gimme for the Colts. It really goes to show you that anything can happen in the NFL.

maybe someone can give me some insight to this. obviously most know contrarian betting and reverse line movement etc. my question is what is an overwhelmingly number considered when the public is playing one side over another? is it like a 60/40, 70/30, 80/20 etc?

I dont know how many people played Tenn +3 and Indy ML (for the modified system) yesterday, but I didnt. I only played the Tenn +3. Indy is technically a win, but I will be playing them week 15.

There is are two plays left in the modified system, which did have a loss this year with Tennessee. Tennessee was a rare team where they had injuries, QB controversy, and rough OT loss on the A bet. I think the modified system is still great, and the issues with Tenn were so rare that they shouldnt cause any significant alteration in the rules.

Congratulations on the finishing the season with two BIG wins with the Jets (SU winner) and Indy (SU and ATS). Here are the totals for the season:

JM System: 9-0 official, 10-0 unofficial (+9/+10 units depending if you played Detroit)
Modified on3 system: 8-1 (+.3 units)

Tennessee kind of messed up our undefeated season, but we still finished in the black.

Also, I stopped tracking this in the forum, but the LWL .500 trend finished with a 8-4 record I believe on SU plays, no chase.
