    HEAT in Oakland

13.5pt dogs. Are the Warriors made of steal or something? I don't see them blowing out the 2nd best team in the east...

Miami allowed the Utah Jazz to shoot 54.9 percent from the field in a 98-83 loss on Saturday and struggled to defend the perimeter, where the Warriors thrive.
The defensive issues on Saturday could have been injury-related, with Dwyane Wade (shoulder), Tyler Johnson (shoulder) and Hassan Whiteside (knee) all playing through some discomfort or missing the game entirely.

Just some info I picked up for you, for what it's worth.....

It sure looks like a lot of points, but the Warriors are a scary bunch. If they up the tempo I doubt the Heat can run with them with lingering injuries on Whiteside and Wade. Guess everything is dependent on the status of those two.

Perhaps they looked ahead and tanked the game in the second half? Teams tend to do pretty poor in their last game prior to playing the Warriors.

Wade left injured and the other two played through. 14 points is bot a lot for GSW. Depends how they feel, they might not be too interested in blowing out an eastern Conference team, and Curry might rest his sore leg, who knows....

Great points, Mag! Also, the Heat are an aweful second half team. Warriors don't let up, they keep coming at you. Bad matchup all around for the Heat. GL!

They all played so they're fine in my book. Players tend to forget about their injuries in a big matchup like this.

Well if you just go by current standings the heat are 5th. I would take the cavs, Bulls, Hawks and Pacers over the heat.

You record is what your record says you are. But in terms of power rankings what about injuries? What about the Wizards?

I think at the end of the day, or season, they will be above the Heat. The Heat will melt by the time the season is over, and if Whitseide goes down, forget it for them. Who going to carry them??? That old man Wade??? Lucky t play two games in a row now. BOL to you and your wagers, just expressing my opinion. By the way, I will take GSW all day.

Warriors 1st quarter could be the best play. They always start fast and build a solid lead in first quarter.

1st half brother, 1st half is the key. LOL. They had covered 6 in a row OVER 30 points in the first quarter, I take them the other day, they hit 27 or 28, but banged over their first half for me. LOL. GL tonight.

Take GSW to cover the 1Q spread. They're so good at that.

The Heat typically win by playing good D and slowing the pace down as much as possible. GSW will break that pattern down and no way the Heat will be able to keep up with them. I am just not sure if it will really happen in the 1H, let alone in the 1Q.

The Warriors are 23-13-1 this season ATS and their average MOV is 12.2, so a line of 13.5 seems entirely reasonable, especially as the Heats best player is questionable (D-Wade) and Warriors have fantastic big man defenders (Bogut, Green) to contain Whiteside & Bosh.

One more thing, I have been flat betting 1 unit on Warriors 1st Quarter ATS every game since about mid December with excellent results. Zero research required. They are a great front running team...

HEAT will win the 1st quarter, the FT points spread, and it will be unders ...all of that contingent upon the HEAT talent playing. I'm betting they will, but oddsmakers are on the fence about it. I suppose the line would be around -10 if not for the injury concerns.

Back to the game... the key will be the ability of the HEAT to execute for good shots without turning it over. Most teams struggle with this but the HEAT are versatile. They have multiple playmakers and a nice compliment of role players.

3rd game in 4 nights along with injury concerns for Miami and it makes this game VERY DIFFICULT.

What injuries have the Heat had this year? They've been very healthy overall especially considering they have some players who are made of glass and haven't broken yet (Wade).

Last year they had a nightmare.

I'd say the Cavs and Bulls are definitely better, I'd probably take Indiana over them in a 7 game series too. They're about on par with the Raptors in 4th place for me.

Miami will finish with a 6/7 seed but they will still make the Eastern Finals IMO. They can beat teams like the Hawks and raptors who will likely get the 2/3 seeds.

No, I didn't say the HEAT have had to deal with injuries. But at the same time I don't think they're worse than the Bulls because they have 2 more losses.
