    How could you trust the integrity of pro sports before you read this? After I read some of the book last year I felt much more informed. As dirty as he was, there's a minimal amount of appreciation for the info he divulged. Just helps us out making more informed decisions.     So much of this still happens. It's quite obvious there's still corruption, but it will never be revealed because the public (including most members on this forum), are too naive to believe it. Sports is like Santa Claus to most people and they'd rather hold on to the story and fantasy than face reality.

    I will say this, the fact that he was up so much to the point the mob was using him and the FBI got him is telling. His bets were on games he wasnt involved in just as much which means he had a sure edge in those games. How else could the officials not have been doing what he stated? If he didn't know the officials tendencies he would have no more of an edge than any of us or the mob could have had. To say it was all lies is just naivety and ignorance. The only reason Stern and Co. couldn't be investigated on it was due to the statute of limitations.

    i was on the wrong side of it BIGTIME yesterday. What happend yesterday in the new orleans/phoenix game yesterday was literally criminal! Its beyond me how noone is looking into this!! I had a 2 team 6 point tease (-130) risking $455 with new orleans +16 and golden state +16. New orleans lost by 17 and gs covered the 16 so i lost my bet. At one point in the in the new orleans/phoenix game phoenix had attempted 21 free throws compared to new orleans 1!!! How the **** does this happen??!! 21 attempts for one team and 1 attempt for the other??!! Im still fuming mad over this and it will take me some time to get over, not because of the amount that I lost...ive lost much larger bets, but its how the whole thing went down and how that game was oooozing with blatant and utter corruptness!! Like ive said before **** the nba, it stinks. The entire league stinks of foul play, ive seen it with my own two eyes. I try and stay as far away as i can from the nba, hardly ever wager on that \*\*\*\*\*\* league

    ^^you follow the nba more than I do Frisco. I dont watch it, I dont keep up with it, hardly ever bet, in fact I hate the nba. So you tell me, have you ever heard of or seen something so skewed as 21 to 1 free throw attempts?? I mean I know some of these games are fixed by the refs/league/whoever but that blatantly???? Just seems way to outrages

    Read his book last week while on vacation. Definitely a great read, not sure how much of it is true. However, I do remember at one point in the book he says that the FBI forced him to take a polygraph test that further backed up a lot of his accusations about the NBA being fixed.

    Definitely have to question whether an admitted cheating, degenerate gambler would tell the truth in his book. I tend to believe the book consisted of slivers of truths and a lot of personal theories about other refs cheating that he believed to be true... rightly or wrongly.

    Ok I even broke out the book for you SBR people:

    When Donaghy was hooked up to the Polygraph, they asked him 4 questions, all which passed:

    1. Did Dick Bavetta tell you the NBA put him on certain games throughout the years to make sure a certain team won?
    ANSWER: Yes

    2. Did Don Vaden make contact and discuss confidentital information with Jeff Van Gundy about the 2005 playoff series?
    ANSWER: YES

    3. Did Mike Marso tell you that "incorrect calls" were changed on the computer system for certain referees to keep their stats up?
    ANSWER: YES

    4. Did referees bet on who would call the first foul in an NBA game?
    ANSWER: YES

    This book was also endorsed by Phil Scala, an FBI agent who was on the case. He wrote the foreward to the book as well. If that means anything. I think that adds some credibility to the book.

    I believe most of it. My guess is he was in the ring of the more corrupt refs and they obviously aren't all dong this. It's almost too easy though. why not?
