Today, 2/12/11 at Oaklawn Park, in the 2nd race, the #5 Credit Report drops from MSW's into a claimer, not a best bet because of anticipated short odds, but a good starting point for those who play gimmicks.

This horse has a competent trainer and rider, this horse also showed good early speed for a half mile in his debut, expect more on the drop.

    Good luck.

I'm going to try to expand on the above play by talking about the 1st race and daily doubles.

The 1st race is a route race for cheap claimers that have not won a race since last October, these are still horses with multiple wins, these are aged horses.

The trouble with races like the 1st is that there is often a great deal of parody, these type of horses take turns beating each other dependent on form cycle, these are the true grunts of the horse racing world.

To effectively play the 1st race to the 2nd in an attempt to cash the daily double can be frustrating if only few horses are singled in the 1st combined with a single in the 2nd. We can try to cap out the hot horses in the 1st but we waste opportunity and cash if we miss the 1st and the horse in the 2nd wins at any price over 2/1. The reason I say that is because if we are uncertain about the outcome of the 1st we can just skip it and bet the horse in the 2nd at good odds.

Today in the 1st it looks like the #1,#6,#7 should be dominate, so logically our double would be #1,#6,#7, in the 1st with #5 in the 2nd (The bet should be 5 units).

To hedge the bet we should also full wheel the 1st race, that ticket should read ALL in the 1st with #5 in the 2nd, the reason for the full wheel is because if we are wrong about the #1,#6,#7 we want to be beat by the longest horse on the board, that way we are alive with the horse we like in the 2nd, as an added plus, if the #1,#6 or #7 do win we now have an extra ticket with them (the bet should be 2 units).

Under the above scenario we need to get a minimum of roughly 8 or 9 to 1 on the daily double bet, if we think that the double will pay a minimum of 16-18 units per 2 unit risk then we have an acceptable bet and the odds are in our favor if we are correct about the outcome of the 2nd race.

This thing opens at 2-5 in the 2nd race? Which one of you guys drove the price down with your 1000$ win bet?

Obviously there is no bet at such reduced odds, pass the race and look for a better spot. The 1-5 double is coming back 10$.

Today (2-13-11) at the Fairgrounds in the 6th race, the #2 showed good early speed in debut, drops from MSW's to a claimer, the morning line is 5/2, demand 2-1 or better. Good trainer-rider combo.

    Good luck
