Using IF bets to maximize probability

I'm guessing you cannot do this, but are you able to bet a game, and then tie and IF bet to it and bet the same side?

For example Rams -3, IF WIN RAMS -3.5. You'd basically be getting a free bet if the book allows you to do this, I'm guessing there is some sort of safeguard?

Another possibility is tying IF bets on O/U bets from the 1h. For example: 1h Eagles Over 17.5 pts, IF WIN Eagles Over 32 pts.

Basically I'm looking for advantage in getting a "free bet". I see it as a free bet, because if your first wager loses, obviously you would not want to place the 2nd wager. But if you're first wager wins, you will be more likely to win the 2nd wager and have +ev.

    what do you guys think?

I think that all books disallow this, and if you were able to sneak one in because of a software glitch, you'd be banned for taking a shot.
