Why is Baylor only -1 vs. Illinois?

Baylor has a better QB. Better coach. Is playing in it's homestate. More excited about the game, first bowl game in 16 years.....

I don't get it either. I would feel better if it was -3.

Yeah -- it opened at -2 and is now -1. Someone knows something that I don't.

Baylor's defense will have a tough time stopping Illinois consistently. If you've watched them play, you'd know what I mean. Having said that, I think i'm still going to take Baylor -1.

we all watched ill go to fres st. And lay an egg. Baylor runs a better offense than fres st. They beat a sad texas team. But i really think they roll.

Baylor is getting disrespected by many who know nothing about them. Illinois is better known and has been in a bowl a few times in the last 16 years(even though they arent very good). Baylor is a much better team than Fresno. Lots of fools and their money will part today.

Never ask an open question like that, because the genuses in here will come back with great answers, like "they are going to win", and "over cashes". Try explaining why. The reason why the lie is only -1 is because the Big 12 does not get much respect, and deservingly so. Missouri played terrible against an Iowa team minus it's RB's and WR. People see the Big 10 and their three co-champs at 11-1 and the Big 12 and their champ at 10-2 and think that the Big 10 is far superior to the Big 12. In most cases, they are right, but not today.

Baylor against teams with a decent/good running game:

    TCU rushed for 290 yds
    TT 173 yds
    Colorado 190 yds
    Texas 170 yds
    Okst 290 yds
    Tamu 147 yds
Oklahoma 110 yds (they passed at will so didn't need to run)

    ....and even Buffalo 162 yds.

Illinois averages 242 rushing yds per game and Baylor hasn't really seen a spread option attack like Illinois' this season. Illinois should be able to control the clock and keep Griffin on the sideline for a good chunk of the game. If it comes down to needing a stop Illinois' defense is slightly better.

Baylor is my bowl play of the year...but then again Missouri was pretty high on my list too? (4-3 overall) Robert Griffith and the boys are just too explosive for Illinois! Baylor hasn't been to a bowl in forever so they should be sky high! Art Stiles is 100x better coach than Ron Zook! Illinois will pound out some scores but they're pretty one dimensional w/a frosh QB! I see something like 40-30...sort of a track meet!

I don't think the B10 is that hot this year...not that it affects this game that much?
Stanzi for Iowa had 25 TDs/4 picks and he's average at best! Couldn't move Iowa whatsover 2H when they loaded up on the run....Iowa was lucky Gabbert gifted them the stupid pick-6!

If Illinois comes all the way to Texas w/fresh QB and a moron coach and beats Baylor who has a better QB, coach, and a fired up crowd who hasn't seen Baylor in a bowl since Bush #1 then I guess I just don't know what I'm doing?

I think this line is moving because of Iowa game last night now at a pick, dont be fooled people Robert Griffin III will have a field day against this weak Illini defense. Here's what I'm playing Baylor - 2.5 +128, easy money

I just cant understand the line, why is it so low?? they are playing in Texas!!! that should be 2/3pts alone. I can't bite on Baylor.
I might be wrong but I just can't do it

Thanks for the stats jas, you've got me holding up on my Baylor pick for the moment. Bowl game excitement and practically home field advantage is a plus in my opinion.

Baylor won't have much home advantage. They hardly have home advantage at their own home games IMO.
