    Bones Jones VS Shogun

    I feel like I watched shogun growup. This guy is a total beast. I don't know if he showed how good he really is, in his few ufc fights. Bones looks like a total beast, but against limited competion. I think Shogun takes it, but Jones is a big unknown. He may be a s good as he really looks, but just hasn't had the chance to prove it against real competition. Shogun is a big step up. Anybody think jones pulls it off?

    Shogun looked terrible against Griffin coming off a layoff, it is far from sure thing but Jones can win. It will be a difficult fight for Rua because no one has figured out Jones's game yet and haven't been able to develop any kind of rhythm against him.

    I feel like that was kind of the same thing when shogun fought machida the first time. I think he won that fight. Its hard to go with the guy who hasn't fought anybody. These brazillians are nuts. They grow up fighting bare nuckles, no rules fights. Headbuts and shit. I wonder what the line will be?

    One of these days, those flashy moves will get Jones caught. Also, we have never seen him really get punched, i have a feeling that his chin will be his Achilles tendon ... im on Rua via TKO/KO aswell

    Yeah Bader almost clipped him a couple of times, I dont see why a much more technical Shogun who will also vary it up with kicks cant catch Bones.

    Im not sure why ppl think Shogun will be uneffective from the bottom. He's excellent at getting back to his feet and has tremendous sweeps. There were multiple opportunities for Bader to sweep or get back to his feet but he was lost off of his back, especially in the north-south position. That won't be the case in this fight.

    Yeah his omoplata on Ricardo Arona and how he got right back up from under Machida would suggest it's not gonna be as easy as people think for Bones to dominate him on the ground!

    I feel like Jones is going to be a champ until he fights Phil Davis.

    The only guys that are going to beat Jones are guys that can control his clinch and ground game.

    Greg Jackson isn't going to let Jones stand and trade with Rua for five rounds...it's going to go to the mat quick, and when it does, Rua is susceptible to chokes.

    Damn, I let -160 go on Bodog, because I thought the Rua backers would get me closer to even. Now its -175. I think it will stay around there and finish around -190. I hope I'm wrong.

    I was expecting Jones to defeat Bader but he manhandled him which I didn't expect? Shogun is a smart/tough figher and I'm sure he'll try to back up Jones and get him out of his game....but after last night I don't see anyone beating Jones at 205? How did he lose in his one loss? I'm guessing he was 20 years old or something?

    Shogun is 100000 times better than any opponent Jones has faced, and has the type of game that will cause Jones problems. My money is on the dog Shogun.

    Shocked to see Rua open as such a dog. Asides from the Griffin loss which has been well explained, he should be undefeated in his UFC run, not to mention he's the guy that figured out Machida.

    And don't forget to factor in experience. I see this fight a lot like the 1st GSP-Hughes fight.

    No, I put 850 on it.

    As I understand from talking to Bodog's manager in the past, they move the lines after a max bet. Apparently I bet the maximum on a CBB game at the same time as another guy did, and they thought we were cheating them. He gave me a warning for not letting the line move first. Maybe I misunderstood what he was saying?

    Although I'm all on Jones bandwagon I can see Shogun putting up a fight the guys fought threw some tough fights and always comes in with a great gameplan + hes really good on the ground and off his back which is where i foresee him being in this fight unless he keeps a distance and uses his Muay Thai to tear down Jones.
