in fairness...the more obviously physically endowed don't always win...four relatively soft-bodied guys that have made a career out of beating much-more-imposing monsters on the regular are Jeremy Horn (a true pioneer of the sport, but looked like a bus-driver), Fedor Emilianenko (who in today's UFC would be a MW...smashed every top HW in the world for a decade), Daniel Cormier ("the black Fedor"...undefeated at HW...but at LHW still looks like he could go down a class...if he could just stay away from the "cake and chicken"), and Shlemenko (another guy with a bus-driver body)...who just an hour ago cost me a bit of coin against Manhoef.

So, the tale of the tape definitely ain't everything...but it should NEVER be overlooked...and you should have a DAMN good reason to go against it...in this Bendo/Hatch fight...it was amazing how everyone just ASSUMED Bendo would have the cardio advantage...maybe he will, we'll see...but to just assume that a handy advantage (and the "weathering the storm" path to victory that hinges on it) exists to counteract the obvious size disadvantage is anything but sharp...it's wishful thinking...and with a payout well south of 2-to-1, uber-expensive wishful thinking.

Odds have changed so much in the last 2 weeks. Betting was really lucrative on Holloway/Magny 2 weeks ago. Henderson got a nice push that made him and Thatch almost even because of people not knowing who Thatch is. That changed drastically in the last day after the weight ins and some articles. We have to be step ahead of the "general public" to get better odds in the future.

good enough...if you got prazzy winning in both of the pre-event simulations you ran in your smokey alpha-state mind...that's good enough for me...i remember a handful of events ago, i just couldn't picture--literally, i couldn't construct any video simulations in my mind in which--Shogun would beat OSP...the left-brain, looking at the -200ish odds on Shogun wanted to see it...but the mind just couldn't/wouldn't do it...same with Phil Davis over Rumble a while back--just couldn't picture it...even tho' he was, again a -200-ish favorite...

and folding in the fact that Prazzy's the only dog the Jib-monster took the trouble to include in his otherwise all-chalk parlay...means Prazzy it is

    __________

capping individual fights and 2-leggers is a left-brain logical objective process...
but putting together a multi-legged lottery-payout ticket is the opposite: right-brained/intuitive/subjective

    Good luck with that Unc..

I think Tim Elliot gets him in a decision win.. Both are grinders and hard to finish and that's why I took the over.. Tim got choked out by Benavidez in his last fight and I certainly don't see that happening again in this fight..

good post...and in exactly this context, I'm pleased to announce the first nomination for the sub-forum's first-annual "sharp as a bowling ball" award...

to build a little suspense (and to prevent those who claim to here "just to get betpoints" from seeing it accidentally), you'll have to go back to page two of this thread...then read everything from the top of that page until you get to post #39...which is the nomination, and early prohibitive favorite...

don't be TOO hard on the author...he's still reeling from a strong shot of ForumDrama "tabasco sauce" that was snuck into his preparation-H yesterday (damage was minimized as the mods mercifully pulled the offending thread before it ate too deeply into his "business end")...so whatever soothing ointment is now being used, it is hoped that nomination for this award is received in a constuctive fashion, as an offering from those "left behind at this place" to help "rub it in"...but be sure to do so over at the "other place" please!
