I think u can throw in Matt Hughes in that article. The night Penn beat him i felt like he just rolled into that choke. It was almost like a huge relief when he lost that belt. U could just see it in his demeanor. These guys must be under a ton of pressure when they look unstoppable. I love the guys around here who are gloating about the Weidman win like they are so much more knowledgeable than the next guy. The facts are for the real fight fans is we basically got cheated of a great fight because of Anderson screwing around. In his second fight with Sonnen there was none of that because he took it serious. Id have to believe we will see a different Silva in fight two and get the great fight most wanted to see. To me this is so comparable to Mayweather pulling this nonsense and getting knocked out than guys running around like they are geniuses because they predicted it. It is actually kind of embarrassing to be acting like a so called genius after a fight like that. Weidman won fair and squared but be honest with yourself. Was that the way u thought it would end and is that the way u wanted what could have been a great fight, to end?

Pal, being honest. Yes I wanted to see that monkey Silva get starched. Also, he's getting starched again bad. What I really want is Silva fanboys to accept that shit. I want them to realize Silva can't beat homeboy. Weidman is the new king. He's gonna steamroll Silva worse than 1st time. Silva can "try" this time. Won't matter, he's getting squashed.

another lazy article that doesn't even mention what actually happened

"For the first time in 17 fights in the UFC, Anderson Silva was defeated inside the Octagon, but he wasn't just beaten—he was finished in dramatic fashion in the same way he's dispatched of so many challengers in the past."

I'm not going debate it with ya, I'm just in the twilight zone again and getting fed up with the crap I'm reading. Exactly the same type of crap after JDS/Cain 1.

What crap? About how Silva "didn't try" or about how Silva "threw the fight?"

nope, not at all. More about how every article leaves out a very important detail. Just like in Cain/JDS 1, something clear as day but no one seems to want to mention it.

Last I read you're already locked in on Weidman for the rematch, so don't think it matters much anyways.

Why is it that people who gamble on MMA know so little about the sport? And Sheik wonders why someone can make 40K a year on this.

Because they're casual fans pally. They watch UFC primetime and tell all their friends they're "experts."

It's in relation to a conversation that Sheik and I had a little while back. He argued that making $40000 in a year with a $100000 starting bankroll, betting only on MMA, is not plausible, and I strongly disagreed.

Its def possible. My bankroll is 15k. I have made a sixty percent return this year and i have made a lot of dumb careless bets. I made 200 percent in about six months in 2011. Its all about putting in the work and finding mismatches. A guy on my regular board is up well over 200 percent for the year already. This placing reasonably bets by the way, generally not going over 15 percent of our bankrolls on any single. With a 100k bankroll, experience, discipline, skill, knowledge and a decent work ethic you should easily be able to hit 100k in a year. Discipline is the biggest thing in my opinion. Playing safer bets. Last weekend we had frankie edgar, edson barboza and mike pierce. How much of a chance die their opponents really have? All three straint at approximately ten percent of your bankroll per bet would yield a 6 percent return. That would be 6k. Of course hindsight is 20/20 but you get the idea. If you can generally come out ahead on very ufc/bellator/wsof all your missing is 100k. Of course thats a lot of money lol.

Pretty much, yeah. I've never gone a year without adding 40% to my bankroll, and I'm not even a great gambler, I'm just an excellent handicapper. Pretty much every other aspect of gambling is a work in progress with me. There are guys who can do no handicapping and crush MMA, for a lot more than +40% bankroll per year.

Predicting line movement, properly applying available data, and exploiting off-market lines. Pretty much what you use to beat any sport without handicapping.

I've cashed out quite a bit of money on 5D, and I've yet to be limited, but I'm worried about it. It would hinder me greatly to get limited at 5D. Or not, I guess. It would make things more awkward though.

I'm in southern California. Vegas is a 30min flight and about $60 roundtrip... As soon as I am limited, just a quick jaunt and Vegas will most definitely take my bets. Just hop, skip and jump down the strip hammering all the casino books.

That's very true, but if I am laying enough money that Vegas is the only place that will take my bets (stateside) then I'm not too worried about if I can make a prop bet or not. ML would still yield enough profit. Also, I could still play the props online, just at a smaller amount. Obviously, one could profit much more with a massive roll and the ability to play props in Vegas, but in my mind, it's a marathon not a sprint. Just glad I have that option, ya know?
