if ortiz wins, the ufc will make a ton of money in an ortiz title fight.

I dont think he would get a title shot if he wins. I think he would fight Machida first.

i don't think the UFC could resist giving tito a title shot if he wins. there's just way way too much money to be made in a tito vs jones or rampage championship fight.

machida's obviously the better fighter but he's not as strong a PPV draw.

I doubt this will be a 5 rounder considering its short notice for Tito.

Rashad via Decision looks to be the way to go here. Same kind of wrestlefest decision like he had against Thiago and Rampage.

Respect to Tito for doing this. I'll actually be rooting for him. I don't dislike Rashad, but I just don't get excited for his fights. He always wins ugly. Thiago Silva and Rampage were a oyster hair away from TKO finishes of him in between his humping them.

machida should have known better. the ufc now owns strikeforce so there's not much bargaining power to begin with and pissing off dana isn't a good idea in this mma industry.

actually,i looked the first tito/evans fight over in the run up to tito/bladder(lot of good it did me)......and tito actually got the best of the grappling in their fight...that`s why it took a point deduction to get evans a draw.....maybe because of the size differential...

evans` wrestling is not mma dominant.....he`s a "hit and run" grappler....he uses some grappling on occasion...but he can`t dominate other grapplers for long stretches....that`s why he`s turned into a striker...he`s a smallish 205`er....but his quicks are his ace in the hole....

if tito can get his hands on evans,it could be more interesting that we think...

both guys can tend to fade late....if it`s a five`er,i bet it gets ugly late...

Whatever dipshit, this wasn't about Machida trying leverage more money from the UFC. The truth is, the UFC was asking Machida to step in and fight a former champ and top contender on roughly 3 weeks notice. The UFC didn't guarantee a title shot if he won, and the amount of money they offered was too small to offset the kind of hit a loss could do. You don't have to offer both, but you need at least one of those things on the table to make it worthwhile.

Oh and plenty of fighters have pissed off Dana White and had fine careers in the UFC: including Anderson Silva, Randy Couture, BJ Penn, and Tito Ortiz. Because at the end of the day, it's not Dana White, but the Fertitta brothers who cut the checks. And that's exactly why you have Dana bitching about Lyoto, instead of cutting him from the UFC.

I can hardly remember the last time rashad fought. Tito should lose but this might be closer than people think.

I agree. I think that's probably what made Tito re-consider and take the fight.

I think a Tito/Rampage fight makes BANK if only because they could probably sell the hell out of that fight but I don't think they'd give him the shot...they'd put him against the Griffin/Shogun winner.

Evans has to be kicking himself for not waiting to take the jones fight... here was was next in line for a shot at the belt and now he could be potentially kicked further down the ladder with a loss to Ortiz

I am excited for this fight, it's crazy that it's this short notice and he just fought in the previous card... it will turn some heads for sure if he wins! I'm going for Tito on this one just like I did with him and bader, I like the underdogs, it payed off last time haha

Tito was going to be released if he loss to bader and now he fights rashad. Because he's stepping in on short notice it will be interesting to see what happens if he loses. He'll probly be in the same scenario as the bader fight if he loses this and given one mroe chance since this was sort of a favor to the ufc. This will be a good fight.
