To LOSE that is
Go ahead and call me a degenerate. I don't care
My home run derby picks:
C. Utley -520 TO LOSE:
Risking $2000 TO WIN 384.62
J. Hamilton +340 TO WIN:
Risking $647.96 TO WIN 2,203
As long as Utley loses I'll be down about $250 at best which I can deal with at the moment. At best I'll come out with $2,500 :-)
Let me break down the derby:
L. Berkman: Will be batting right-handed. I expect him to make the top 4 because of his experience, but can't match up to the moon shots Hamilton hits in BP
C. Utley: 2nd favorite to win the competition. He has participated in a Single-A home run derby and hit 0 home runs. Admits his line drive approach is not a good formula for this derby
D. Uggla: Actually one of my sleeper in this competition, but very hard for him to win.
R. Braun: A strong favorite with his price. You can get him at +1000 on matchbook.
J. Hamilton: The best BP hitter in this competition, plus the 314 line fits him well. The only negative I see here is he will be having a 71 yr old pitch to him.
G. Sizemore: Another line drive type hitter. Same comments as Utley. 0 home runs in a minor league All-Star game derby.
E. Longoria: -1100 to lose is a sure bet. I'd throw 60,000 on that if I had it in my account.
J. Morneau: Experience home run hitter. Not bad odds at +500.
