$2K on C. Utley Go Ahead Call me a Degenerate

    To LOSE that is

Go ahead and call me a degenerate. I don't care

    My home run derby picks:

    C. Utley -520 TO LOSE:
    Risking $2000 TO WIN 384.62

    J. Hamilton +340 TO WIN:
    Risking $647.96 TO WIN 2,203

As long as Utley loses I'll be down about $250 at best which I can deal with at the moment. At best I'll come out with $2,500 :-)

Let me break down the derby:

    L. Berkman: Will be batting right-handed. I expect him to make the top 4 because of his experience, but can't match up to the moon shots Hamilton hits in BP

    C. Utley: 2nd favorite to win the competition. He has participated in a Single-A home run derby and hit 0 home runs. Admits his line drive approach is not a good formula for this derby

    D. Uggla: Actually one of my sleeper in this competition, but very hard for him to win.

    R. Braun: A strong favorite with his price. You can get him at +1000 on matchbook.

    J. Hamilton: The best BP hitter in this competition, plus the 314 line fits him well. The only negative I see here is he will be having a 71 yr old pitch to him.

    G. Sizemore: Another line drive type hitter. Same comments as Utley. 0 home runs in a minor league All-Star game derby.

    E. Longoria: -1100 to lose is a sure bet. I'd throw 60,000 on that if I had it in my account.

    J. Morneau: Experience home run hitter. Not bad odds at +500.

I agree with your analysis, good luck.

I think it comes down to Hamilton, Morneau, and Berkman.

I invested a little bit into Braun at +1100, Amazing Amanda.

I didn't have the marbles to tail you on Hamilton, which means he'll likely win with ease.

You have to like a lefty in this thing don't you? I couldn't bet against Utley in this this thing. Berkman hasn't said whether he'll bat left or right handed. But just because of the design of the park, either Hamilton, Utley, or possibly Berkman would be my picks with maybe Ryan Braun or Grady Sizemore as the longshot. I'm just gonna sit back and enjoy it though. No action for me.
