    8/3:

    Reds -130 F5 (0.6u)
    Reds -131 (0.5u)
    Angels -127 (1u)
    Braves -130 (1u)
    Royals F5 +190 (0.7u)

Reds Reasoning: I wrote about Mahle last week in what was one of my biggest plays of the year so far. Tonight is a similar story. Mahle has had great success against the Twins hitters. We get a good price tonight solely bc of Kenta Maeda. I have backed him plenty in the past but the Reds have some solid numbers against him. I have this game lined closer to -147 for the Reds. We still have to deal with the Reds bullpen which is why i split the F5/Full game but the added guys should help some. One thing to be careful of is Mahle has not been near as good at home this year for whatever reason. Still its not enough to scare me away. Take the Reds up to -137ish.

Angels Reasoning. Jordan Lyles toes the rubber tonight and yet again i am showing some value against him. He usually has no trouble allowing runners, giving up runs, and has trouble missing bats. The Angels lineup tonight has some decent numbers against him but the main thing that jumps out is his lack of strikeouts against the lineup. Despite todays game being all about strike outs, walks, etc. There is still plenty of good that comes from putting the ball in play and i think that plays a factor tonight. Suarez isn't an ace but he has been okay thus far for the angels. Another price play here as i have the Angels as -143 tonight against a depleted Rangers team with a subpar Arm. be careful though Lyles has been pretty solid ROI this year. but again Im not going to shy away from a play bc of something like that.

Braves reasoning. I mentioned on my tweeter it might be time to buy the braves to win the east a few days back. The deadline proved that they are far from folding up and calling it a year despite the injury to Acuna. Im still interested in backing the Braves to win the East as i think its definitely possible but i havent pulled the trigger yet. Fried has been trending in the right direction and has very good numbers historically against the Cardinals. The K rate for Fried lately has been very solid as he has struck out 9,6,7 in his last 3 games. The addition of Soler, Duvall, and Pederson adds some power to the lineup tonight. The Cardinals are and have been tremendously overvalued by the market much of this year and i think we have the same tonight. Lester has poor underlying metrics and tonight seems like a good spot to get behind the braves at a cheap price. Note for DFS players Albies is 8 for 12 in his career vs lefties.

Royals f5 reasoning. I do not like Cease and never have. The White Sox have put together a pretty incredible roster thats flying under the radar somewhat as i wouldn't be surprised to see this team win it all. I don't have a ton of angles here but the price seems right to take a shot with the kid Bubic here who has put together a couple very decent starts! The Royals lineup and Bubic are plenty capable of having the lead after the 5th here.

Dont have a ton of time tonight keep it rolling! I crossed off the Marlins and the Nationals despite showing value on both tonight.

    8/6 MLB:

    Royals +141 (1u)
    Brewers/Giants under 4 f5 (-112) (1u)
    Marlins +143 (0.8u)
    Marlins/Rockies f5 under 5 (-110) (0.6u)
    Marlins/Rockies under 9.5 (+100) (0.6u)
    Tigers/Indians Under 10 (-113) (1u)
    Money Line parlay: Astros/Athletics (-101) (1u)

    Reasoning:
Royals: I am a little higher on the Royals it seems than the rest of the market. Minor has a 5.31 era but a 4.28 xERa and a 4.32 xFIP. Suggesting he has been a little better than his numbers indicate. Minor usually pitches into the 6th and 7th inning which always helps and has been throwing it pretty well lately. As he has given up only 7 earned runs in his last 21 innings. But still i don't see a major advantage if any on the mound for the Royals tonight. On the other side Adam Wainwright has a 3.53 ERA but a 3.99xERA suggesting he has outperformed his numbers slightly anyways. But Wainwright has been throwing pretty well as well lately! This play stems from- I have this as closer to a coinflip and im getting the underdog at +140. The Cardinals are someone im looking to fade down the stretch as i just don't think this team is anywhere near as good as their record! note for DFS guys: Carpenter is 7/12 off minor/ Merrifield is 5/12 off Wainwright.

Brewers/Giants under f5: Im not going to go into how good Corbin Burnes has been this year as anyone following the sport already knows. He goes against Logan Webb who is putting together a fine season himself for a Giants team that never seems to lose. Webb coming off three strong outings here lately and finds himself against a Brewers lineup that doesn't possess a major threat. I had this game at 3.5 for the first 5 so i will gladly take a shot under 4 here. Burnes got roughed up against Atlanta last time out but im not too worried about it as i think he returns to form tonight. DFS note: Posey is a perfect 4/4 off Burnes in his career. but Burnes is clearly a different pitcher these days.

Marlins- okay if you haven't noticed by now Alcantara is one of my favorites and for some reason seems to fly under the radar every time out. Hes quietly one of the best young arms in the game. Quite frankly i dont know when it will happen but i can see this Marlins team putting together some very very impressive seasons in the near future. They are loaded with young arms. a little bit of firepower in the lineup and some advances from Jazz Chisholm and company this team might sneak up on the rest of the NL sooner rather than later. This is more of a coinflip game tonight and im getting a +143 on the Fish. Also it helps that none of these Rockies hitters have done anything at all vs Alcantara in his young career. They go against the Rockies who have been solid at home and a arm in Marquez who definitely has the ability to shut down a lineup. I dont run to the window to put in Coors field unders but this year we havent quite seen the run production of normal and we get 2 quality arms. I split these plays up to hopefully mitigate some risk given that it is a larger play tonight when added up.

Tigers/Indians under 10: I have this total at 9.23 so definitely showing some value with the 10. I like how Cal Quantrill has thrown the ball as a starter as he has backed up some really good numbers as of late. It may surprise a lot of people that hes given up only 3 earned runs in his last 23 innings while striking out 18. He goes against Matt Manning of the Tigers who hasnt been good to be quite frank about it. Hes a 23 year old kid that possesses a nice fastball/curveball combination. Im banking on some positive regression here for the kid as he gets to face an offense that is struggling mightily here lately.

Money Line parlay: Astros/Athletics (-101) reasoning. Not going to go too much in depth here. seems like a get right spot here for Greinke and the Astros against Ober and the twins and then included the Athletics as a huge favorite who i think should win tonight to get us a nice even price!

    Best of luck tonight guys!
