I dont think that Djokovic wants to play anymore tennis until next year, he is probably letting Tipsarevic to win which is big mental boost for Tipsy. Finishing year in the top ten, playing at final masters and of course making some extra cash. That is what are good friends for

I honestly don't think Djokovic is going to win at this point. I don't think Djokovic is letting anyone win, I just don't think his game is sharp enough with the injuries/fatigue at this point. I am surprised though, I really expected Tipsarevic to bow down and serve the man up an easy win.

If it was truly fixed, would have been over in two. No way they would go three with Djokovic's fatigue issues. Whole point would have been to get him more rest.

unless they wanted to cash in on some nice live odds.

tipsy is winning and im gonna place a decent sized bet on him next break

djoko dominates his service games and then doesnt care when he returns it

I don't get why people would think Tipsy would throw a match for Djoko anyway. Most mates I know would like to beat each other more than most others.

And why would Djoko risk it anyway...

Assume so and try to explain why you think the world number 1 would risk rigging this match?

Ferrer just gifted Berdych the 2nd set. Was up a break, gave it back and then donated one more for good measure. Seems like all Berdy's matches this tournament go this way. So that means 3rd set tie break, eh?

It must be the second one, but I still believe that Djokovic is hoping that Berdych wins the match so he doesnt have to play. He wants to be done for the year.

It actually worked out well for my futures. I mean I lost my one on Djokovic, but now I don't have Federer or Berdych going head-2-head, so could realistically end up with both in the finals ... although I think it's going to be Fed vs. Tsonga.

I have fed +160 to win it all from a week ago and just put sick money on him winning in 2 sets vs ferrer. What do you think?

i would be surprised if it wasn't a straight set win for Fed over Ferrer. the more interesting match is the tsonga/berdych.

Trust me, watch a couple eastern europeans play against each other and then tell me there's no fixing.

Tennis has a bad rep when it comes to integrity - mainly in the smaller out the way tourneys

Well the Federer future has paid off. In the final @ +180. If Berdych can get there, guaranteed money tomorrow. Even if he doesn't, will have the hedge opp with Tsonga at plus money.

I didn't say there was no fixing.

Just surprised at the chorus of Tipsy wants Djoko to win almost every time they meet. The risk is too high for top players anyway, but because they are top players the amount of money would have to multiply. Multiplying the risk as well. Plus what I said about mates wanting to beat each other more than anyone else.

Just seems illogical to assume a fix with these two to me.

Not really that risky at this point in the year. End of the year matches with all the "fatigue" talk, whatever ... fixes are a lot easier to accomplish IMO without too many people batting an eye.

There are several countrymen who do the deed for their friends more often than not when needed. Llodra & Benneteau are pretty notorious for this last year I think it was.

In any case, last match of the year on Sunday. Been a great year for tennis with the rise of Djokovic and the resurgence of Federer here at the end. Think it would be appropriate for Fed to net another title and see it as his to lose on Sunday. I see Tsonga at +285. Will wait to see if it drifts out toward +300 to set me a small hedge against the Federer +180 future, but I'm pretty confident Federer is going to win tomorrow - but definitely want to make something off the match.

Don't forget we've got Davis Cup Finals starting on December 2nd and then a nice break until Australia.

Yes, a nice break, to rest and come back with clearer ideas in January.
I will perhaps begin the year 2012 with Djamila Groth in Auckland.

Tsonga +318 for a little to hedge against the larger Federer future. I think Feddy takes it. Good luck with whatever you're doing.

    Please help.

    Thanks!

I don't like laying chalk. -400 is still steep even given the form because the guy could roll his ankle on the 1st point and then what happens? I'm not really sure it's a straight sets type of match or not. If you look at their meetings, tie breaks come into play quite a bit and that's a scary proposition that you'd need Fed to finish a tie break potentially in a set to get a winner. Of the two, I guess I'd rather play the lower price but again not really sure this is going to be a straight sets win or not. Might be, might wind up going 3 like their Round Robin match.

No idea. Federer probably will recover, but that was brutal. Blowing a break lead and then a mini break lead in the tie break.

i find it odd that against any other player in the world fed wins that match against tsonga in the us open 100% of the time and this match is the same. up 5-4 serving for match and up 5-2 in the tiebreak only to lose it.

Roger is NOT losing this one! He knows he F'ed up and let him off the hook in the 2nd set and won't do it again in the 3rd.
