    Azarenka - Stephens

    Hello

I am leaning Stephens at 2.14 in this match. She took out Vika in Indian Wells with 2-0 just a few weeks ago, and I would not be suprised to see the same happen today.

BOL and have a nice day.

Totally Agree. She plays much better in the US too. Yesterday 3 out of 4 Underdogs won. It was close to all 4 winning. Osta and Collins paid out well. Slightly less windy today. 15-20 mph. Feeling 2 dogs. Stephens is one of them.

Exactly - and thank you for the input. I also believe we will need to wait quite some time for Vika to hit her top-level again, as she has only played a total of 13 competetive matches during 2017 and 2018.

Stephens was moving very well against Kerber at played smart tennis. In Stephens Vika match at Indian Wells there were many break point opportunities BUT STEPHENS OWNED vika 2nd serves. Punished her on 2nd serves and with the wind still blowing relatively hard enough vika 2nd serves could be even more vulnerable.

I think the wind factor bothers Stephens more in this one. If you look where her success came from here in Miami, it was well placed deep ball. Pushing opponent back, waiting for the opportunity to step into the court and go for it. With wind, finding that depth on your ground strokes consistantly is problematic.
and speaking about movement, yes Stephens does move well side to side, but her footwork can be off if you are able to hit into her legs, which is definitely something Vika can do.

Not saying that she can't win this one, because the way she way playing throughout the tournament, she deserves a lot of respect. Just pointing out some of the match up issues that she might have in this one.

I honestly think Vika wasn't in form in IW and she'll definitely want some revenge for that loss. She up'd her game and from what i've seen in her match against Pliskova, she seems determined to take down Miami for the 4th time.

She sure is playing better then in IW. But I'd argue she has any motivational edge over the others. It's semifinals, I'm sure they're all determined to take down this tournament.

Just pointing out that winds have been blowing 15-25 mph each and every day of the tournament. I like your insight and it’s great to actually discuss the match rather than just posting a pick

Vika 2nd serve against Stephens. Vika only won 17% of the points. Against Radwanska 33%. Against Svestova 25%. Scary bad numbers

Agree. Listening to different angles on a certain match up definitely helps you to get a better view on it. just gotta keep an open mind.

Honey badger last item. Stephens in the last 12 months is 22-5 on AMERICAN SOIL and 0-9 outside the US

That's a cool trend. But the real question is how much edge does that give you as a bettor? Or better question, do you think books already incorporated that kind of stuff into the line? Because I think they are aware of things like that and that's why we as a bettors need to find other ways to find an edge. Because, if you handicap matches the same way as they do, it's impossible to win long term, considering that they have juice on their side.

    Vika or pass.
Personally I'm passing but looking forward to watching it.
Totally different Azarenka this week compared to when she was tuning up at Indian wells.
Between her and the fat slob Serena having kids, Vika is definitely the one that still looks committed to tennis and tried to stay in shape somewhat.
She's had days off during this tournament so she should still be fresh and good to go.

Crazy the line movement as well. Stephens was just a plus 112 and is now a plus 147. I do not see Stephens winning this match. Aza is on a mission and will dominate Sloane today. Honeybadger had a great assessment which I agree with.

    Congratz to anyone who trailed.

Probably not playing Sloane in the final though
