    Djokovic giving Tsonga a gift....

Get on Tsonga here... Djokovic wants to rest for cincy and the US Open..... He can't make a long run in all 3.

To be honest patty, never.... But if you think about this, Nadal is resting. Djoker has the #1 seed and has no points to defend here. I think djoker would rather win cincy and US open. He can't be tired while Nadal is resting. I didn't see this one coming, I almost through djoker in a parlay but the body said no.

He's been resting for a month is my point.

Still , how motivated is he really for a 500 before a 1000 and a slam

These are the spots we need to hit in future , free money if you think about things a little deeper

He made the semis in 2013, he had pts to defend which is why I still think the pts to defend angle is mostly worthless

It's a Master Series 1000. He's rested now but reaching the finals in both Toronto and Cincy would take a lot out of him.

Maybe we should consider he is just not in good form at the moment/fatigued from real life. Got married. Baby is coming. I don't buy the resting theory. He could just as easily gone hard this week andthe skipped or dumped out in Cincy. I'd be weary of him mentally right now with the real life stuff.

With Nadal not 100% at the Open, or not even playing at all, makes the Open even better for Nole.

Ya, maybe mentally with Nadal giving up the 1000 event, he felt as if he didn't need these points. At this point in his career, the slams mean the most

Yes I agree... What makes it difficult is the fact that Tsonga looked like shit vs Chardy. This match was predetermined by Djoker for sure. Good spot to help out a struggling Frenchman.

I don't see how anyone thinks they could have guessed this result. Easy to say in hindsight.

Yeah, not a chance. I don't think there was much of a line movement either.

Why enter the doubles? Why dig deep against Monfils? Just had an off day..

Why not dig deep against Monfilis? It makes this loss look legit now. Plus Monfilis was a very good opponent, maybe he was tired after the Monfilis match and maybe he knew a deep run 3 tournaments in a row wouldn't be wise

It's just so out of character to see him totally tank

Look at his losses over the last year

    Nadal at Garros
    Fed at Montecarlo
    Fed in Dubai
    Stan at Aussie open

    That's it

Before that was Nadal at last years Us open

You gotta think he's really prepping himself and resting up to win the Us open , with nadal out and all. Plus it's the only slam he has not won multiple times

I think you're spot on patty. I strongly believe he's in it to win Cincy masters and US open. If he takes the US open I'm pretty sure he will have #1 locked for this year

I must have slept through him winning 2 French Opens. What year is it?

Djoker, Maria, Ivanovic, Bouchard... all go down
what is it with this tournament, it's big enough to rate but not a major
so question motivation and timing between Wimby and US open ?
    plz not Federer next.

It's a 1000 event... Plus it's the change back to hardcourt from grass and clay. Timing can be off.

That's like the most surprising result since Nadal losing to Almagro.
