    Call me crazy - I'm taking Mayr-Achleitner +500 this morning

    Honestly, no one's been worse than her in the last few months - she's lost to the players she should lose to, and players that she has no business losing to. But today, she's in Austria, playing Sabine Lisicki, who as we all know is talented out the wazoo but is seen crying off the court on many occasions when her head isn't right. Based on her recent results and slippage down the ranks, I'd price this match around -250/+180 Lisicki/Mayr. Mayr is more of a clay court player, but I think she (along with many other WTA players) relishes playing in front of a home country crowd. I think Mayr scores a massive upset here.

    Ok, I call you crazy then Tevari Not bec of taking Mayr, but bec betting on WTA is crazy, IMO. I feel like any bet on the women is basically throwing money away. Good luck though.

    Thanks, likewise. Lisicki getting juiced up....Mayr-Achleitner is up to +550 now...hate getting a bad price but I guess it's to be expected with a "big name" playing a nobody.

    I was seriously considering taking +6 with Mayr but you know how that goes in tennis...first two sets are close and then a blowout in the third...so i thought the practical thing to do was take the Over 18.5. But after your write up, I just may throw some change on Mayr.

    And Dmoney, there is no such thing as not playing something when you're a degen like us! lol.

    She stated in an interview that she was thrilled to receive a wild card entry into the tournament and that she plans to 'stop the negative slide' or something to that effect. Win or lose, she's going to give a maximum effort. I'd feel relatively comfortable taking +6 games. GL.

    Though - I've seen PLENTY of Mayr. She can blow it up at any time. Wouldn't feel comfortable unless she's up a set and 5-0 40-0 in the second set.
