Rosol just dropped three spots in the rankings

I have to admit, it's pretty funny. Obviously he doesn't get any more credit for beating Nadal than anyone would for winning in the second, but:

He was actually ranked 65th in August 2011.

I hope Federer gave Rosol a thank you call after yesterday's win.

    He made all this possible.

beat Nadal, and your reward is to drop out of the top 100.

I wonder if Rosol is going to be able to capitalize on this at all. People now have heard of him, I guess.

It def should give him alot of confidence....clearly has talent to be much better than a 100 ranked opponent...

One of the players we'll have to keep an eye on in the coming months.

Nadal wouldn't have beaten Fed Djokovic or even Murray in all likelihood.

That's an overreaction, the grass slowed down as the tourney progresses and Nadal is Federer's nightmare

Federer has been the best player in the world since last year's US Open.

He'll retire with at least 20 slams.

Any shot at winning Mercedes against a not very impressive field? How is he on clay? 50-1 odds on Rosol or would I be throwing my money away?

I'd go with Djokovic. Federer has only made three GS finals in 2010-2012. One in 2010, one in 2011, and one in 2012. Including smaller tournaments, it would be difficult to make the case for Federer.

He'll retire with at least 20 slams.
I'd bet heavily on the under.

You realize he has 17, right? He'll play another 4-5 years.

Yes, I know how many he has. I'd gladly bet under 20.

How long he plays is not what's relevant. The question is how long he'll be an elite player. I'd wager that's less than 4-5 years.

Well, you can argue that Murray would've beaten Nadal to get to the finals because 'Nadal lost to Rosol'. But I simply don't believe that. Nadal is NOT a bad grass player, granted it may not be his best surface. But don't forget he has had success in this Slam. And the only reason Nadal lost was because Rosol played some of the most ridiculous tennis I've ever seen anyone play - the way he played that 5th set, he was playing as if he was the best Tennis player on tour. If Nadal had made it, I'm fairly certain he would've gotten through Murray, because as well as Murray had played, he would still not have played like Rosol did in that set (which is the only way Nadal would've been out).

And then, Fed would still make it to the finals because he beats Djoker but then he sets up a final against Nadal lol....and I don't think I have to even say what would happen there. Bottom line, Federer just can't beat Nadal in best of 5's, he plays like a little girl against him. Can't even remember how long it was since it happened.

Fed used to be able to beat Nadal in GSs. I think he could still do it.

I'd discard clay because that's not really the issue (Nadal owns everyone at RG).

Federer is 2-3 career vs. Rafa other than RG. Rafa beat him in 2012, 2009, and 2008. All were tightly contested matches. Federer won in 2006 and 2007.
