Anyone feeling wild enough to take Benneteau +2200??

Some people must 5dimes dropped the line from +2900 overnight. I really, really doubt he could win but honestly what justification is there at this point in Federer's career to be a -3000 favorite over anyone?

I got 50 on him and also got +8.5 in a parlay. I don't think he will win but based on similar line movement in the past with big faves, he will take fed thr distance I think and pretty confident will cover 8.5

Maybe the Nadal loss is influencing people to take big dogs? no clue

Yeah I'm gonna play the 8.5 myself. I'll put $20 on the moneyline just for fun.

Exactly. No one is going to take Fed at that price a day after they saw Nadal lose.

Besides, historically, line movement means nothing in tennis. Shari and others on this forum have studied this.

I have a little on it. However, Federer should dominate him. Federer is excellent on grass and loves playing at Wimbledon. He should cruise. This isn't going to be another Nadal type upset.

Federer does not look good on the return so far ... This match has potential to be a long one.

Looks like you guys with Benny ML could be cashing another big ticket ... Too bad I didn't hop on the bandwagon.

I told you Federer has no business being a -3000 favorite against anyone at this point in his career. I still doubt Benneteau necessarily wins this but the 8 1/2 was a solid, solid bet.

I don't know if this is directed at me, and if it isn't I apologize, but I never said Roger should be -3000. All I said was line movement usually doesn't mean anything. It really doesn't if you look at this stuff historically.

I didn't bet this match, but I admit in hindsight that I wish I had thrown $10 on Benny ML.

+8 1/2 was a smart bet. Federer will be fortunate if he gets out of this one alive. Benny looks sharp, so Federer will have to really grind through this match to advance.

Federer has at least one match like this every Grand Slam ... hell most of the Big Four have at least one of these sort of matches if they make a long enough run to a quarterfinal or semi or further. These are usually the matches which show you why they are who they are 99% of the time.

As for price ... I've said it like a broken record all year, the books have really gone off the reservation for most tennis matches. Especially when they involve a big name.

That was HUGE for Benneteau to push this set to a tiebreaker!

Only one tiebreak away from another amazing upset. Fed won't come back from down 2-0, considering the way both guys are playing.

If he does, I'll gladly enjoy the five-set thriller.

I would never count Federer out. Benneteau's track record @ Slams isn't stellar and there's a reason for that ... the lack of being able to consistently pound the ball over the course of five sets. Best shot is to sweep. He loses a set and doubt starts creeping in. Still amazing that two of the best could get booted back to back days. Djokovic has to be loving life right now.

Just goes to show you the best shot at beating any of the big guys on faster courts is to just grip it and rip it. If you have your best day and they have slightly below theirs ... almost impossible to lose when you're hitting every line and making every shot, Very demoralizing.

Djokovic, Murray and Tsonga are all smiling right now. Sorry Fed, but you're not getting that 7th Wimbledon title ... not that he had much of a shot against Djokovic anyway.

Incredible I almost can't believe this is really happening. This will be some hit for us. I got the + 8 1/2 pretty big and threw $20 down the moneyline thinking that there was no way it could really happen. I sure as hell hope Benneteau doesn't crack.

EP, you make an excellent point about Benny not being able to pound it for five sets ... Federer needs to take this break and run with it, because the longer this match lasts, the more fatigue, pressure and doubt Benny will feel ... which in turn, would affect his ability to keep pounding winners.

No sweat ... at least not yet. After the way he had to grind to hold at 6-5 and win the tiebreak in the second set, I don't blame him for taking a set off. He has been the better player for most of this match.

You have a valid point. I think we really need this 4th set. If Benneteau loses this he would have lost all the momentum.

Oh and your avatar brings back bad memories. I had Fat Dave in that match lol.
