7 of the top 10 WTA players already out in French Open

Azarenka,Radwanska,Williams,Li Na,Bartoli,Wozniacki and Kerber already out. Probably hurt a lot of futures. This has just been full of upsets.

You need to ditch rankings when trying to evaluate a match. Players earn points on all surfaces... they could struggle on clay but still be in the top 10.

    Just to help you out:

    1. Azarenka - 12-4 in the past year =75%
    2. Sharapova - 16-1 in the past year = 94%
    3. Radwanska - 33-17 = 66%
    4. Kvitova - 32-18 = 64%
    5. Serena - 17-2 = 89%
    6. Stosur - 18-4 = 82%
    7. Li - 12-4 = 75%
    8. Bartoli - 3-6 = 33%
    9. Wozniacki - 6-5 = 55%
    10. Kerber - 14-6 = 70%

The one true shock was Serena. The others have neither played enough matches and/or don't have stellar win %. Look at how many Kvitova has played on clay. It makes a difference.

    Just to compare:

    Errani - 27-5 in the past year = 84%
    Kanepi - 15-3 = 83%
    Shvedova - 18-5 = 75%

These women can play on clay.

I don't see this shocking in any women's Major. I said it last year at some point. The Top 15 or so girls are all just about interchangeable parts as a far as rankings/winnability/rocks for brains.

If this would of happened in ATP this would be a shocker though. Just matters more in ATP because they can play on all surfaces.

I agree. Picking the quarters or semis in a women's Slam is almost like winning Powerball. On clay especially I find.

It's not only about playing on all surfaces. They don't have shit for brains for the most part and they can hold their serve much better. The WTA top 10 has been a joke for quite a long time and will be for the forseeable future.

Agreed and despite the closure of the talent gap on the Big Four, when it comes to Slams - as you saw today, Best of 5 format and the mental strength of the Djokovics, Nadals & Federers > The Field.

Yep, it's a massive gap. Huge. I'm just glad that I've long grown out of the urge to live bet the dogs when they're seemingly far ahead in a match. Get + odds when they only need one more set? I'm smarter than the silly bookies still offering +250! Let's watch Fed or Djoko get upset and make some cash too!!

One too many times of losing my money on that whoreshit and I eventually figured out I may as well call a charity and donate instead. The fact that they both still covered the handicap says it all.
