    Sports.com Help!!! Please!

I recently won a Survivor Pool run by Sports.com and the pot was $80K and me and another guy were last two standing and should have won 40K each. Was only credited $25K and was told this:

    Mr. Jones,

Thank you for the email, yes, we will indeed credit your account in the next 24h, we've been conducting an investigation as the contest provider provided messed up our number and stats, our system was also showing the entries and the updated pool prize for all our sister companies as well and not the one Sports.com alone had.

    Those sister companies are: Sportsbook.com/Superbook.com/Playersonly.com

Management will credit your account $25.000,00 cash, no strings attached, honoring the original offer of $50.000, we actually only had 1118 entries in this particular contest which translates into $27.950,00 as you can clearly see we're losing almost $25.000,00 by honoring this particular contest.

Is there anything I can do about this to get credit for the rest? I am worried that if I complain that they will screw me out of the other money they did give me...

they need to honor it. if the pot clearly show 80k on the site then you said get your equal share. My advise is to take the 25k first then file a complaint for the other 25k. that way you would still have the 25k if they dont pay instead of getting nothing at all.

well they only gave me $25K and still owe me $15K but still it is 15 THOUSAND DOLLARS! And it is rightfully mine....but the problem is there is nothing you can do about it. If they dont wanna pay you, they wont. Not like you can hunt them down and beat the shit out fo them or sure them or anything...

Make sure you get that initial 25k then fight like hell after for the 15k. The 25 will be better than zero.

    SGbye,

Do you have their rules and/or TOS or any promo material they used to sell you on the contest? Normally we'd say you are very lucky that a stiff sportsbook may pay you $25,000 for the contest but the buy-in means they sold the contest to you and creates a more interesting dispute.

congrads on the win. i see the point of you putting up $25 because of the size of the payout. risk/reward. but i also get that the jackpot was a little like a bad line. but, once you agree to the $25k - withdraw it. i think that's it. the time to talk about what you believe is fair was when they made the offer of $25k. i do not think they will even discuss this matter with anyone once you withdraw. and i guess you are in the process of getting that money now. enjoy the moment. enjoy the money. don't dwell on why not the other $15k. you will feel more like you lost, instead of winning $25000.00 on 1 big hint.

Terms and ConditionsRegistration & Making Picks | Buying Entries | About the Grand PrizeSubmit Picks Page | Standings Page | Statistics Page | Check Your Picks PageSurvivor Pool BasicsEach week, starting Week 1 of the 2010 NFL regular season you must select one team that will win their game outright; point spread is irrelevant. If the team you selected wins their game outright, you will proceed to the next week. If the team you selected loses their game outright or ties, you will be eliminated from the contest.Once you use a team, you will not be able to select that team again for the rest of the season. The member(s) that makes it the longest without having one of their selections lose or tie will be the Grand Prize winner. The final week of the contest is Week 17 of the 2010 NFL Season. However, the contest can end earlier if there is only one contestant remaining at the end of any of the preceding weeks. For example, only three contestants are alive heading into Week 16. Contestant A and Contestant B select a team that loses their game, whereas Contestant C selects a team that wins their game; Contestant C will be the lone winner of the Grand Prize. If all of the remaining contestants are eliminated prior to the end of the season, the contestants that were alive heading to the final week will split the Grand Prize equally. For example, if three contestants are alive heading into Week 14, but all three are eliminated; those three contestants will split the Grand Prize. If there are at least 120 entries alive after Week 14, each contestant must select two teams that will win their games outright for the Week 15 games. If there are at least 60 entries alive after Week 15, each contestant must select two teams that will win their game outright for the Week 16 games. If there are at least 30 entries alive after Week 16, each contestant must select two teams that will win their game outright for the Week 17 games. If numerous contestants are still alive after Week 17, they will split the Grand Prize evenly. If a game is canceled or postponed for any reason and the game is not played before the following Wednesday, both teams scheduled to play in that game will be graded as losers. If you selected either of those teams you will be eliminated from the contest; however, your buy-in will be refunded. This contest can be modified at any time.TOPRegistration & Making PicksRegistration is required. Enter your correct Username and Password on the NFL Survivor promotion page. If you do not enter your correct information, you will not be able to proceed to the next step.Once you have correctly entered your Username and Password you must create a nickname for this contest. You will be identified by this nickname in the Survivor Pool, not by your Username. If you purchase numerous entries you will have the same nickname for each. However, next to your nickname will be a number in a bracket to represent the number of entries you purchased. A number will be assigned to each entry. When creating a nickname, you are prohibited from using any inappropriate words that may be offensive to others. If you use offensive words, you will run the risk of not being allowed to participate in this or any future contests. In addition, your entry fee will not be refunded. You are eligible to register for this contest up until Monday September 13, 2010 at 10:10 PM ET. However if you wait until this time you will only have the San Diego Chargers vs. Kansas City Chiefs game to choose from, as all other games will be off the board. Once the final Week 1 game starts, registration will be closed. From Week 2 forward, you must make your selection by Sunday at 12:55 PM ET.If you do not select a team by Sunday at 12:55 PM ET, you will be eliminated from the contest. If you wish to select a team that plays either Thursday or Saturday, you must select that team no later than five minutes prior to the scheduled start of their game. The Survivor Pool will reopen every Tuesday in the early afternoon. You will be eligible to make your pick for the upcoming week at this time.Once you submit your selection, you will not be able to change your pick.TOPBuying EntriesThe entry fee for the 2010 Grand Prize Survivor Pool is $25.00.You are allowed to purchase up to 10 entries and will receive a discount if you purchase all the entries at the same time. The entry fee scale is as follows: Entry #1 = $25.00; Entries #2-5 = $20.00 each; Entries #6-10 = $15.00 each. If you are going to take full advantage of the discount, it is advisable to purchase all of your entries at once. You can purchase your remaining entries at a later time; however, your first entry will again cost $25.00. For example, you purchase your first two entries on Monday and subsequently pay $25 for the first entry and $20 for the second entry. Later in the day, you decide you want two more entries; you'll have to again pay $25.00 for the first and $20.00 for the second. When purchasing entries, your funds will be deducted directly from your account.TOPAbout the Grand PrizeThe Grand prize is a cash prize; there are no rollover requirements associated with it.After it has been determined that there is a winner(s), the Grand Prize will be deposited into the winner's account within 24 hours. If there are fewer than 500 original entries, the Grand Prize will be reduced to equal amount.TOPSubmit Picks PageOnce you are signed in and ready to make your pick, click on the 'Submit Picks' page. Here you will find all of the NFL teams listed. Proceed to check the box next to the team you wish to select. Please note, if there is an 'NA' next to a team, this indicates that either the team is on a bye or their game has already started/finished. If there is a 'W1' next to a team, this indicates you used this team Week 1. 'W2' represent you used this team Week 2 and so on.Please note, the teams are not listed by who they are playing. Refer to the 'Weekly Schedule' tab to see each team's opponent. After checking the box of the team you wish to select, hit the Submit button. Once you submit your entry, you will not be able to change your pick.Once your pick has been submitted, a confirmation will appear on your screen informing you that your entry was submitted successfully. If you have multiple entries, click on the 'Go To Entry' dropdown. Here you will see the entries that you still have alive. Eliminated entries will no longer appear here.Click on the next entry number and the teams will appear again. Make your choice like before and hit 'Submit'. Again the confirmation will appear. If you still have additional entries, keep repeating the procedure until you have submitted your picks for each live entry.TOPStandings PageOn this page you will find a list of all the original entries in the contest. Next to each entry you will find the team (by city) that was selected for every week.If a team is highlighted in 'green' this represents that the team won their game that specific week. If the team is highlighted in 'red', this represents the team either tied or lost their game. By clicking on any nickname, you will be able to see which teams are still available for that entry.Above the list of entries is the up to date statistics for the contest. 'Players' represents the number of original entries. 'Eliminated' represents the total number of entries that have been eliminated. 'Survivors' represents the number of entries that are still alive and eligible to make a selection.TOPStatistics PageNext to each team you will first find a graph indicating the number of entries that selected a particular team. Once they are graded on Tuesday morning, a 'green' graph represents a team that won their game. A 'red' graph represents a team that lost their game.To the right of the graph you will find the exact percentage number of eligible entries that selected that particular team.To the right of the percentage number is the total amount of entries that selected that particular team.Click on the 'Go to week' dropdown to see the stats on prior weeks. At the top of the chart are the up to date statistics for the contest. 'Players' represents the number of original entries. 'Eliminated' represents the total number of entries that have been eliminated. 'Survivors' represents the number of entries that are still alive and eligible to make a selection.TOPCheck Your Picks PageListed on this page will be the total number of entries you purchased. To the right of each entry will be the team you selected for that specific week, for each entry. Before the games are graded (Tuesday morning), your picks will appear in grey.Once your picks have been graded, they will either appear in the color 'green' or 'red'.Green represents that the team won their game so that entry will be eligible to make a pick for the upcoming week.Red represents that the team tied or lost their game so that entry is eliminated from the contest and will not be eligible to make any more picks.Once an entry has been eliminated, an 'x' will appear for the rest of the weeks.

holy crap, nice hit. I wish i had your 'problem' man! Word to the wise: don't spend a dime of that money until the wire hits your account. Then I'd still withdraw it all immediately in cash and put it in a safe deposit box. Can't ever be too careful when it comes to large sums of money like that. I wouldn't exhale until the stack of bills was in my hands and not just a number on a computer screen.

If you went to the "Specials" section at top of screen and scrolled about halfway down to middle of page it had Survivor Pool and once you clicked on it that is where it says $50,000 survivor Pool and then that was crossed out and then $80K was in red over top of it and it said "due to overwelming response to this we are upping the pot from 50 to 80K.

I just checked it and it is no longer there though I am screwed

Saygdbye19, did you keep a record of emails send from Sports.com? I checked my records and there was one email that I received from Sports.com on Oct. 8, 2010 titled "10% Bonus Special Continues - $100,000 Football Challenge" which stated:

    $80,000 SURVIVOR POOL PICKS
Guaranteed prize increased to $80,000. Make this week's picks!

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Due to overwhelming response, the GURANTEED PRIZE has been increased to $80,000.00.
Do you have what it takes to outlast every other Sports.com member and stand alone on a mountain of cash at the end of the NFL season? We are putting up a Grand Prize of $80,000.00 in what should be the biggest NFL Survivor Pool around.
    Here is how it works:
On a weekly basis throughout the NFL season, you select a team that you think will win their game outright. Whether they cover the spread is irrelevant, they must simply win the game. If your team proceeds to win their game, you are still alive and will move onto the next week to select another team. However, if your team loses their game, you will be eliminated from the contest.
Here is the catch; you can’t use the same team twice. For example, if you select the Saints in week one, you can not use them the rest of the season.
Besides some football knowledge and a little foresight, all it takes to enter this generous contest is $25.00. Enter up to 10 times and the more times you enter, the cheaper the entry fees cost.
The entry period for the $80,000 Survivor Pool is over. To make your weekly picks and to check the results, click below.

    Bill,
I won on a sister website, playersonly.com, and have yet to get paid. They have NEVER claimed anything about this and split the 80k prize amongst the 9 finalists....
I have been told everything about why I can't get paid but it was always due to the processor.

The classic bait-n-switch. The worst part is he bought in for $25. That's a lot of cash to ante up for such a long shot.
