They stole my money, I had to get SBR to get it back, they were mad about not being allowed to steal my money (and getting caught lying to SBR) so they closed my account.

Def a book on the up and up.

About three years ago I sent them some money, got the little bonus. Back then they had this casino game that had a video game attached to it. Anyway, I would always get the max I could on that game. I would play it a few times a day and I never lost. When I went to make a withdrawal they wouldn't let me at first because I never made a sports bet. Eventually they looked over my account logs and said that even though it states in their rules for taking the bonus that the rollover only applied to sports bets. They actually let it slide and gave me my withdrawal. Customer Service was always great there for me.

I started a long thread about how they threatened. Basically they were making up fake withdrawal fees and stealing money from my account after I made withdrawals. SBR doesn't seem to think its that big of a deal or lying repeatedly to them.

Carib was a good book, but they went downhill fast after the gambling law.
It's time for bigger players to leave them behind, not safe anymore...

Horrible interface. Good lines. Good customer service. IIRC their horse rebates are some of the best in the industry. They need to improve their funding options. They also have some quirky rules such as frowning upon betting opposite sides of the same game. Overall, they are a decent 2nd tier shop.

They are going to get a reputation for hassling sharps even though it is somewhat rare. Anytime a book relies on verbal/email rules to govern how the player uses them vs. the software it is going to lead to problems. They are asking sharp players not to bet on both sides but will cancel the 2nd bet.

They are a good book that has been around for a long time but haven't grown or evolved with the times. If you are a recreational player you'll be fine. If you are a sharp, you might get bets canceled before the game or have to fight for getting hit with processing fees. We are currently discussing policy with Carib.

They have a separate set of rules for sharp vs. recreational players. Sharps are allowed to play there but on a short leash. Betting limits are reduced, buying points are not allowed, and only 1 bet size is offered (the player may not bet less than the reduced limit). Carib's software then auto-moves on the action. Sharps are generally expected to pay all deposit/withdrawal fees. This isn't an unreasonable policy, but it needs to be stated clearly or there will continue to be problems with this issue in the future.

This is a cute way of saying, "We will rob players, and close accounts for anyone who complains."

    Shills. lol.

I think he was saying that players who aren't informed in writing in advance are getting hosed. Strong and fair citicism of the book.

If there isn't a time-stamped email players will perceive it that way.

Even if it's before the game, it's a minor league move. If the software can't do what you want it to do then honor the bet you book and part ways with the player.

    No.

The choice to allow/not allow a "middle" bet gives the book the option to freeroll the player regardless of time stamp/voiding before the game.

Carib is a good book for sharps b/c the place is a mess! Anyone that is sharp would allow them to take the 1% they charge to withdraw...turn around and take them for dimes galore. They should let players know THEY Don't but when you smack them who CARES...only a square.... Clearly Carib made a mistake and flagged someones account as a sharp when he is a square...

If the middle hits, the book voids both bets. If the middle loses, the book doesn't void either bet, and collects juice.

You can check the equity of the bets and void/not void based on that information. You don't even need to wait for the event to happen. If you don't exercise the policy 100% of the time. It opens the door for abuse.
