    MyBookie - unauthorized use

On Saturday, September 11th at 8:47pm PT I logged onto mybookie account. I deposited $2000 in August and the first thing I noticed is that my account had $17,500. My first thought is that there was some sort of mistake and the account will show the correct amount shortly. I even took a screen shot of the account balance and then looked into the transaction history to see what’s going on. I noticed a bunch of Casio wagers, yet, I have never played the casino and only gambled on games. Now 5 minutes later at 8:52 PT I refreshed the screen and my account had $3.20 in it (took a screenshot of that too). I ended up calling mybookie’s support to let them know my account was somehow hacked and I never played the casino. They took my info and said they will get back to me within a couple days. I just got an email from them saying that they investigate and all the losses were my responsibility. Didn’t give me any details backing up their finding which is ridiculous.

Does anyone know how they track IP address? Can two people be logged on at the same time from different IPs? This all seems fishy.

I can share the screen shots of the 17.5k disappearing in 5 minutes.

SBR should put up the My Bookie Logo with a skull above or a sign that says POISON in large letters. Over and Over, etc, this place has posters complaining about this book. It's very sad

If they withdrew, then chances are MyBookie shares at least some responsibility here. Because their withdrawals have 2FA via text. So unless your phone was completely compromised or the hackers convinced you to share the 2FA code with them, then it's likely that the culprit talked MyBookie into changing the phone number on your account.

I might be wrong. Just spitballing here.

Not necessarily. This type of thing happens a lot. He says he took a screenshot and all of this happened within 5 minutes. He was probably trying to figure out what the hell was going on in those 5 minutes. It's not shocking that he didn't change his password.

And you sound like a mybookie shill, if you had a clue you would know that another SBR A+ rated book had a rash of cases exactly like this one and the book restored the players funds. To this day we don’t know what happened but it was written off as a rogue employee. It makes zero sense to have an employee lose a players funds in the casino but it has happened before, maybe the employee was fired from the A+ rated book and got a job at the C+ rated book.
how in the hell is mybookie rated C+? That makes SBR ratings system look like a joke.

Forget about 2FA,if MyBookie ever paid out anyone the same day (or even pay anyone without action) , that would be proof to me that something shady was going on.

Don't worry. Some people here assume new posters are all liars for some reason. I don't get that. Everyone is a first time poster at some point, and many people may not feel the need to do anything but lurk until they have an actual problem.

Two things are definitely true: (1) MyBookie is trash, and (2) the industry is overrun with hackers trying to gain access to sportsbook accounts. MyBookie is a big target because they have such a large user base.

You can't upload images here. Use a free image hosting site like imgbb and then paste the link here. You can use the image button in the post editor to embed the linked images in your post.

Wait. I think I understood your story incorrectly. So you don't have any withdrawals, right? The culprits just ran up your balance and then lost it all at the casino? Please confirm. I should have thought of this because MyBookie has a $2,500 withdrawal limit for casino winnings anyways.

If you really didn't play the casino and lose all of your money, then MyBookie should be able to investigate and see that the activity came from a different IP address. Then they should credit you your balance back because it's really no loss to them (they just need to agree on this with the 3rd party casino game provider).

Most books will do this for players. However, knowing how shitty MyBookie is, I'm wouldn't be surprised to hear that they won't.

That is correct, I never played the casino. Mybookie is saying that it came from the same ipaddress which should be impossible but won’t show me any proof or let me talk to their security team. I don’t understand how it’s possible for two people to be on the site at the same time?

Can you explain the third party casino? I get that all these sites would use a third party casino but do you know details of how that works? Is there a third party security team that needs to review this too?

I'd try reminding them that you were online at the same time as this was happening and maybe that is causing the confusion that your IP was used in the casino. And ask if this can be escalated to a manager to double check.
