Vegas Sportsbooks
I am going to Vegas for the first time soon.
What are the best sportsbooks to check out, I'm looking specifically for places that offer one of the following:
1) Lots of props
2) High limits/low/juice
2) Places that offer good comps if you bet big
Any suggestions?
4) Also, any sportsbook that just has a great atmosphere with good/cheap food.
Your not going to find any of that in Vegas......
Hilton has props, good limits, and the only decent comp rate in town ($220 wager =$1 food). They do reduced juice happy hours on Fridays during football season (-105)
I like mandaly bay. Very big. Not sure about props.
best ones are mirage and horseshoe

First of all, what do you consider as a "big" wager? In Vegas, we are talking nickels and dimes, not hundreds. Have you decided where you are staying yet? Do not look for comps if you are an unknown there. It is not going to happen. They may comp you if you lose enough, but the amount you wager probably will not cut it. You may get a free meal if you play long enough. It all depends on two things. How much you wager and how many games you wager on. Most casinos are the same. You are going to pay 10 cent vig for the most part, so don't waste your time looking for cheaper.
This is not offshore wagering. You will not be able to check all the books in Vegas because of the distance involved. Forget about driving. Do you know where you are staying yet? If not, try the "Center Strip" area which basically runs from the Paris to the Venetian and includes about a dozen hotels within walking distance.

about 4 months ago, I went to vegas to bet on sports and gamble....let me just say that I regret going there..... you can do a lot better by wagering online....
Hilton for props. I like red rock for hanging out at. It's the nicest IMO.
If you aren't betting 5-10k a game don't count on comps.
No place has -105
I like Lagasse Stadium at the Palazzo. And the Hilton remains underrated.
It's funny how it used to be (circa 2001) if you placed a $10 bet you could sit at a table and the waitress would bring you a drink for free. Now they come around and the corona is like $9 and they look at you crazy when you show them your $30 betting slip.
Vegas is nowhere near as diverse as offshore.
Easiest books to beat... Strat and Harrahs. Toughest to beat: Hilton.
Is that why I didn't see you at the "Tuesday Night Superbowl Prop Release Party" this year?
Thanks for all the great info. Sounds like the sportsbook scene is pretty dead in vegas, so I'll probably just stick to poker for the most part, and make a few small sports bets.
Dead? Not dead at all.. but after playing online for years you have become spoiled..
you can't buy 3 pts in vegas like u can online..
most places don't let you buy pts on o/u at all..
But it isn't all bad.. Hilton is great, so is Ceasar's and MGM grand.. if you want free drinks try Hilton or Venetian.. they are pretty liberal with the drinks..
Not true, you can check most the major Sportsbooks in Las Vegas at VegasInsider. They are delayed odds, but it gives you a good idea what the other books have on the games.
Gambleballs was talking about "food" comps, if your in the Sportsbook with a live ticket, you will get comped drinks. $1 Food Comp per $220 bet is the best I have seen or heard. Just get a LV Hilton players card, then go sign up for the comp program at the Sportsbook.

Harrahs properties all shop the same lines.....
Hilton and Palazzo are nice.
Also Ballys has a Sbarros and a Nathans for a $10 snack.... not cheap, but good in a pinch.
Disagree. Strat is easy to beat but there are far easier books to beat than Harrahs. Hilton is surpassed by the M Resort now. I hit the Providence/Pitt under 152 yesterday there when it was 150 pretty much everywhere else for hours. I even took a shower before I went down there. I was pretty shocked to see that number sitting out there for so long. I thought for sure once I got down there it would be gone.
That's not true everywhere. Many places now require that you ask for a drink ticket when you place your wager, and you redeem the drink ticket for a drink. Other places will flat out refuse to give you free drinks regardless of the size of your wager. MGM properties are pretty notorious for being stingy with sports betting. My buddy told me a story of placing a few dimes worth of bets at one of the south strip MGM properties and asking for a drink ticket and they said they didn't give comped drinks for sports bets.
Yes I know this very well, but I was referring to my quoted post, and that was about the LV Hilton. I go to Sam's Town a lot, and they have recently gotten strict with drink tickets. The sportbook manager said it wasn't their job to get people drunk. I told him you don't have to get alcohol with them, you can get water or sodas. He went on to tell me that you get 1 ticket per $20 bet. I said I just bet $300 worth and I only received two, shouldn't I have 15 drink tickets? So then he switched it up by saying they give up to two, then they use their discretion. I said, use your discretion and give me a few more.I know I was getting nowhere with the dipshit, so I walked off.
Just tip the cocktail waitresses good, and they usually will take care of you.
Exactly. I've hung out at the Monte Carlo sportsbook a lot (which is a MGM place I think) and there is normally one or two waitresses in there giving free drinks to people betting. They'll keep coming as long as you keep the tips coming. Now it's been a year or two since I've last been, but I've never paid for a drink there...
you do not need a bet ticket to get a drink at the Hilton and i was there last month. they will take care of you. there are only 4 places that i know where you dont have to show a ticket for a drink:
hilton
circus circus
belagios
imperial palace
Oh, re: the Hilton specifically, I've never been asked for a drink ticket there ever. At some of these places that won't comp drinks for sports bettors, usually you'll have better luck putting down a random $2 horse bet since a lot of the ones that won't comp for sports will comp for horses.
Yes, all of them cater to the horse bettors.
Do the Hilton, nice place, nice people and a good sportsbook/lounge...............
