    Ukrainian ghost matches

    Hi,

I think lots of you heard for ghost matches in Ukraine from 25.03. till 27.03. This matches is never been played but some bookies offer this matches for betting. My local bookie offer this matches and i made bets and i lost them. Few days latter i heard about this scandal and ask my bookie to cancel my bets but they ask me to send them real proof.
I send them lots of article who wrote about this but they ask me to send them ''real proof''. I dont know how to find real proof so is there anybody here with some idea or anything to help me with this.
Here is one link for this scandal.

    Wow, that is brazen.

I mentioned to a friend last week that the current situation was open for this sort of thing to happen.

If your local does not believe newspaper reports, he likely just does not want to to pay you anyway.

But this article says that the Football Federation of Ukraine issued a statement saying the matches were fake.

I could not find the statement on their website for you but maybe email them and ask for a link or copy? https://uaf.ua/

or email the write of that article and ask him for help with proof maybe?

How would you prove the non-existence of something?

It's the same as he would ask you for "real proof" that Jesus did not exist. Or flying spaghetti monsters. Didn't he visit a school or college or something? The normal way is that you have to prove that something exists, not the other way around.

So it's not you who should prove that the match didn't take place but him to provide you with a match report of that game. Very simple.

The main question is what provider served that ghost match. They must be banned from operation. Book should be fined, because lets be honest they dont double check their provider. They pay and provider give them live score, play by play, odds, live odds...
But with official statement from some of this 2 clubs they should refund you.
Can you please say name of sportsbook so we can investigate what provider they use.

"The matches were offered to bookmakers as a data feed by Bet Genius who had presumably been informed of them by their local scouts – people who collect the live match data for the bookmakers’ fast feeds that are used make, open and close the betting markets.

Those scouts would have then supplied the match data, as though real and live, that bookmakers would have used to make their markets.

The fake matches that were completed and rolled into betting markets were, on March 25, FC Berdanysk vs FC Lozovatka and Tavria vs Melitopol Cherry. On March Berdanysk vs Tavria and Lozovatka vs Melitopol Cherry were also completed before the tournament was discovered to be fake.

BetFred, BWin and 188bet, along with a number of other online bookmakers, all offered markets to their punters.

The schedule was for the fake tournament to hold another round of matches on March 27 and a final and third placed play-off on March 28, but having been discovered as a fraud the scam was halted and on March 29 the Facebook site was deleted."

Issue is that those bookies already paid out winning bets on those matches. I found on some Russia telegram channels infos and bet small correct scores and they paid it all out(same Cro bookie probably).
I believe that if they would void you now, they would have huge mess considerin lot of people played so it's better for them to playdumb and ask for better proof while there is nosuch

BetGenius do not deny it happened, but I am sure they are under attack and have been asked for compensation from their customers etc so won't be saying much at all to anyone.

Your local obviously is not going to pay whatever you provide as well.

No use continuing to try and prove him wrong. Just speak to him as if it is obvious what happened and ask for some sort of compromise/compensation. Maybe a free play?

You'll just end up in an argument and/or account close if you continue. He is wrong. He has no leg to stand on. But isn't going to admit he is wrong. If you give him an easy way out he might bite if he wants to keep you as a customer.

You got it All wrong. It wasn't bookmakers who were making money, it were bettors.
It's quite simple technique in these times. Basically genius sport has managers in those countries which need to add match. They also need link to prove match exists(Facebook, official club page etc).
Then they add match and put own scout and click what they want whole match.
They were selling correct scores on forums and some chats to bettors and bettors made good money.

Thing is that if the bookies later voided those guys who lost not knowing info, they would have lose-lose scenario(as they already paid winning ones) and they won't do it.

They must void and take beat for unprofesional behaviour. You should press charger against bookmaker Vujo and share on all cro forums,facebook,instagram... bad press will kill them, who would go and bet there if possible matches are non existent.

As far as i know no bookmaker voided these bets. Furthermore, supersport would just simply switch it to genius..if he had proofs that other bookies voided(which they didn't) then he could do such thing..this way I think no real effect

I didn't realize it was a licensed bookmaker. Thought you were talking about a local/agent bookie.

They have lots of info about the company but that does not look like a license?

Is there a gambling regulator in Croatia?

No, there is no gambling regulator. There are laws about gambling and if you have a complaint, you don't have many options except lawsuit.
