Betus told me I will never receive my money....any help out there

On the phone with Betus today trying to cash out and the 2nd person I spoke with told me and I quote I will never receive any money. WTF.? Any help out there or am I just screwed? He said since I have not made a deposit since 2010 I am not eligible for a withdrawal and went on to say they run a business and paying customers who don't make deposits is not good business. His reasoning was they gave me a free play of $25 in 2014 and another 1 of $50 in 2016. I accepted both and since there is money in the account never felt a need to make a deposit. Currently there is just over $1600 in the account. He said i would need to make a deposit equal to the amount in the account which would bring the balance to around $3200 then play up to $32,000 in wagers before being eligible for a withdrawal and only $1600 would be eligible. Is there anything I can do to get paid? I am obviously never making a deposit with Betus.

Have you been playing this whole time with them? Why would you need to deposit again to be able to cash out?

I did fill that out. thank you for the suggestion. yes, i have been playing occasionally. i am not a big sports gambler. i just bet when i find a line that is interesting. sounds like they just don't want to pay me because i haven't had to make a deposit in a long time. which seems f'd up.

Don't they normally put a $250 max payout on those no deposit free plays as well as a time limit to meet the rollover?

That might be your issue as you said you haven't deposited in 8 years and you are playing on free plays from 2014 and 2016.

seems pretty doubtful that his balance is only the result of running up $75 in free plays

he probably got those in addition to money that has been sitting there?

md5 please clarify whether or not you had a balance at the time of the freeplays

Yes there was a balance. Probably $100-150 ish. I got hot on the world cup and some baseball which ran it up to where it is now. I want to cash out and bet locally which prompted me to request a payout. My 1st ever request for a payout with them.

1 free play was a coin toss on a thursday night football game. I remember that 1 clearly. Not sure what the other 1 was. They were pre determined betting plays. It isn't like they gave me $25 to bet on whatever I wanted.

The fact that you had some of your own money mixed in with the free play winnings definitely makes this more troubling.

FWIW, here are BetUS' freeplay rules. I don't see anything in here that would allow them to steal any of your money. They're going to have to pull a rule out of their asses to justify doing so (unless I'm missing something that's published elsewhere on their site). I would take screen shots of all their rules now before anything changes.

Thats crazy you went 8 years with no bust or withdraw with only 75$ in fp added. Did you not bet at all for several years? You obviously should be paid in full if deposit money was in your balance. Just a strange case.

what did they expect you to do? Deopsit 100 when theres a 1600 balance, just for fun?

Their thinking isnt wrong, but their action doesnt follow regulated books. Normally they would charge a fee for dormant accounts, or they can close account and pay balance if they think you are undesirable.

    their thinking is totally wrong

and why would they charge a fee to someone giving them an interest free loan? it wasn't a dormant account, he didn't go more than a few months without making bets

he should only get that 100-150 he had in there before he took the free plays. assuming that they have a time limit or rollover requirement on free plays which he failed to complete. i know it doesn't seem right but they want players who deposit and bet regularly. the boss probably get fed up with dormant accounts cluttering up his site and wants to clean them out before football season one way or another and soon.

Then send the people an email with a warning. You can’t just take people’s money because they don’t play as often as the book wants.

if they don’t want to pay out on the free plays then don’t give them out! Or at least have rules and restrictions in place

have no idea if they had rules or restrictions or not on the free plays. if they did and he didn't adhere then the book has the right to clean out their deadwood. they want depositors and bettors. if you put 100.00 in a mutual fund and didn't regularly add to it for 5 years it would be eaten up with fees. mutual fund companies don't want customers not depositing and offshore bookies don't want customers not depositing either. if he actually did deposit money 5 years ago he should get that back or just reset his account for that amount.

I linked to the book’s rules on freeplay a and rules in general early in this thread. I welcome you to try to find something in there that would allow them to keep his money. I couldn’t find anything.

    Good luck.

I wouldn't bank on getting anything from these thieves.

These guys will try to get out of paying in every way possible.

They told me ** stole $695.35 that was sent to me when I was banned there.

    Read about the headaches here:

I was giving examples of what books do. there were 2 options, the second you ignored. If they dont want him, they cant steal the balance.

But I can understand why they dont want him.

"or they can close his account and pay the balance"

^^^ No need to argue about it, as dormancy fees are not used offhsore generally. But Cashin is correct that most (if not all) UK licensed books now have a dormant account fee if players do not log in for a period, usually 12 months.

I have trouble understanding the justification for it. AFAIK none of them are game to try it on with their Australian brands, which I think goes to prove they know it's a questionable way to steal money off dead people IMHO.

The OP sounds like he logged in from time to time anyway though.

the book doesn't get a choice of what to do with the player's funds, the player does... he wants his money that he won fair and square, why is there even a discussion about this, it's theft

Are you talking to them outside of the SBR complaint you filed? I would stop communicating and see what SBR can do. You might make things worse.

Yea they don't like you being up on them. You can forget any bonuses or free plays until your even betting wise. You've been holding $1600 all that time? If the $1600 is still in your account you could play it and see what happens. It may be your only alternative. Their very into their player satisfaction mode, so you may want to turn up the heat in that area.
