YouWin closed my account stealing 1900€ of open bets!

    Hi,

The bookmaker named YouWin have closed my account without giving me notice or a reason, and I had 1900€ of open bets with them.

I cannot fill a proper complaint with SBR because without access to my account I don't have my account number. Is it possible to do a complaint without it?

It is an unbelievable behavior and I want to have my money back.

I don't know yet the reason of their act, but I suspect they have seen me logging in with a different IP due to the fact that I use TunnelBear to access the website from my country (which is an eligible country for YouWin), and they thought I was hiding my real location, when in reality all I wanted was have the chance to bet with them because the access to their website is closed from my country.

They haven't even asked me some documents for the verification, which I would like to do as I can prove my identity and residence as I did with many bookmakers.

    Please help me

    thank you

    Hi -

Yes you can still fill out a complaint without your account number. Just make sure to include your first name and surname so it'll be easy for us to communicate with YouWin about your account. http://www.sportsbookreview.com/sportsbook-complaint/

Hi, thanks for the reply. So I just put my name and surname instead of the number of the account?

If you're betting with them from your banned country they have every right to close your account but at least make the wagers void and return the stakes

If your country has the website blocked then I would imagine YouWin has failed to update their restricted territories terms. The problem with using a VPN is that plenty of other people could be using it to access YouWin which would alert them to believe someone maybe using multiple accounts.

Unless I'm reading his second last paragraph wrong, it sounds like the book allows his country to play there but his country has blocked access to the book so he's used another way to get through.

Will see when his complaint is assigned though.

    Yeah, exactly.

YouWin allows my country (Italy), but I can't access the website from Italy without using a VPN app like Tunnel Bear.

I registered and made every bet from the same place, my home in Italy, but using the app.

They probably have seen me logging in with different IPs (like from UK, which is banned from their website), and thought I was residing there, or I had multiple accounts.

I hope they let me explain to them and won't be stubborn.

    thanks for the help

I thought Italy tried to do what the UK have recently done and require bookies to have a license specifically for Italian customers.

I'm in the UK and YouWin does not have a block against UK IP addresses, so maybe the Italian government have actually done something about it.

Check your local laws about online gambling as an online bookie may state that certain places are banned, but that it is also up to the customer to be aware of gambling laws within their own country.

Having said that, I do personally believe the problem lies with you using a VPN. Any number of people could have accessed their site through your vpn provider using the same IP. If you choose to use a VPN, you should always have a personal IP registered only to you, which will always show being from a specific location and no one else should have access to.

Not sure on youwins terms, but nearly every online casino prohibit the use of vpns to access their sites. If this is in youwins terms, then you may be screwed

They asked me yesterday to send them the required documents for the verification and I send them over. They seem to be open to check my situation since yesterday, so maybe It will be solved.

Regarding the situation in Italy, It's not quite UK.

The government have blocked many gambling website for many years, but the law is not still clear on betting with them, especially with bookmakers within the EU.

For the VPN I have to find a solution because other bookmakers will ask questions.

Is accessing the bookmakers with a proxy website safe? and if I use a personal IP will I be able to use an Italian one without the governement block?

Also I was wondering when I go abroad how can I bet without having the bookies flag me just because I changed the IP.

    thanks for the help

It's only safe if you're using an IP from the same location, if you keep using IP addresses that hop from country to country then it's going to look suspicious. Vpns are obviously used a lot by fraudsters / multi accounters so without having a private IP from a VPN company, you will have no idea on the amount of people logging in to a site via the same IP. You will instantly be flagged as a multi accounter or fraudster should they decide to investigate your account and there won't be much you can do about it.

They may resolve it, they may not. Terms usually state that if gambling is prohibited then you shouldn't wager with them regardless of whether they allow you to sign up or not. If Italy is blocking your access then this may be interpreted as prohibition.

Also as I stated before, a lot of casinos do not allow access via vpn / proxy servers - check their terms to see if they have this. If they dont, you might be able to get somewhere regarding your bets.

After the approval of my documents and a phone verification, they verified my account.

Everything seem fine now as I did the login and the open bets are still all there.

I wanna thank SBR for the support and the SBR community for their help on the forum.

If they close your account with any bookmaker without giving you a reason and saying that they have the right to do so, contact SBR and fight until you will get your money back and the respect you deserve as a customer.

I will study now all the solutions for avoiding that something like this will happen again in the future.

If you find a bookie that blocks your access from Italy, just don't risk using a VPN / proxy in the future. Just go elsewhere. While this appears to be sorted by now, you could end up in a situation where the use of a VPN / proxy is prohibited in the terms and may risk losing your funds. Just be a bit more careful with any new accounts from now on

Luckily everything went OK. But in the future Italians who want to circumvent obscurations bookmakers unlicensed Italian, avoid proxy or VPN ..... Just change the DNS to the pc. For example, I am youwin customer for years and I've never had any problems, I avoid the blackout using the free DNS google 8.8.8.8. and 8.8.4.4.

Yeah, that's what I did from the first day that they closed my account but It was too late.

I wasn't aware of the trouble from using a public vpn, and I usually use it also for accessing other website not related with betting.

Anyway, what is your overall experience with them?

Have you ever had problems with them during these years reagarding payments or you would trust them as a top bookmaker?

Their behaviour was really horrendous prior to my fighting and the SBR intervention.

For payments, have always been punctual. But this bookmakers do not trust a lot, so I never let the account more than 100 €
