    Betting Exchanges

Can someone give me a list of reputable betting exchanges? How do they work?

There are really only two worth bothering with: Betfair and Matchbook

You don't bet against the house but against other punters who hold an opposing view to you.

The exchange takes a commission on the deal. Betfair from the winner, Matchbook from both the winner and the loser.

    Betfair and Matchbook

They work by members bidding for prices they want to bet for or against an event.

If you are in a country where Betfair operates you can probably attend a free beginners course. They are helpful to get started.

If you live in the USA (the land of no fun) than you are out of luck. No betting exchange since the day after the super bowl 2013 . Can't believe i made it this long without one. Don't know if i will ever have a chance to play again at a betting exchange. Betting exchanges make sports betting a heck of a lot more interesting. Better returns, better odds, live wagering to the extreme with dumb punters leaving up stale odds, and much more. Also sometimes with horse racing the site doesn't close the odds quick enough and you can cherry pick odds during the race. I know people call it past posting but it is one heck of a rush. With betting exchanges you as the bettor can make your own odds . With regular generic sport books they try to rip you off on the juice/vigorish. Vigorish will hurt a novice/mediocre bettor because mathematically they are behind the 8 ball. All sport books should go replace their sites with betting exchanges and the world would be a better place.

I'd like to see a global betting exchange with all the leading sportsbooks just competing for business on there.
    Only one account needed.

There is a bitcoin site called Predictious that has some sports betting in exchange form. It's actualy a prediction site with a variety of different type bets (economics, entertainment, news events, politics, etc). It's still pretty small now, but if some more people show up they may be willing to add a daily sport type exchange. Since it's bitcoin only, they accept anyone from anywhere.

I'm using Smarkets too. If 50-200€ stakes/bet is enough, then open accounts to Betfair, Matchbook and also Smarkets. I dont see reason to open an account just in one place. Should be searching for the best odds instead of best house. Matchbook has 25€£$ new account offer, Smarkets 10€£$, Betfair certainly has offers too. Betdaq maybe worth trying as well. However, for highrollers Matchbook is the place to be. Betfair getting weaker but still okey.

Smarket looks like a good option for small stakes and football. There aren't a diversity of sports to choose from with Smarkets.

Certainly worth having if into racing.

    Your anger is misdirected.
It's your government which is to blame for Pinnacle, Matchbook, Greek, Neteller and Skrill leaving.
