Bitcoin platform Coinbase used to let you verify your bank account, and then buy Bitcoins instantly. Now they've shut that down, and while they say you can re-verify, apprently it's pretty tough for Americans to do. This is a bummer because now you don't know what you're buying, and Coinbase has a few days wiggle room to tell you what the market price was even though they may have gotten it cheaper.

I'm not an expert on this, and would appreciate comment from anyone who has had to deal with this.

Coin Base changed their policies very recently.
Originally, you needed to verify several things, including your bank account, then wait for 30 days to enable “instant buys”.
Within the last month or so, they shut off “instant buy” for all of their users who had been using it. Now the wait time is four days. So once you buy coins, you must wait four business days before you get them. For example, if you buy today, July 8th, you will get the coins on July 14th. Nearly a week’s wait time.
This makes using Moneygrams the best choice again, because they can be done the same day, whereas Coin Base now takes around a week to deliver the coins to you.
Coin Base mentions that if you give them them even MORE information, like ************, they will re-enable “instant buys” for all the users they shut off recently, but the *********** processor rejects pretty much all ************. There is a particular type of **** card that they accept, but it rejects all **** cards for Americans apparently. No one I know can enable instant buy again through Coin Base.
Which sucks, because Coin Base went from the fast purchase method for bitcoins …. all the way to one of the slowest methods.
