How safe is it to keep money in a sportsbook?

I'm with sportsbet, which is one of the bigger groups within Australia and a subsidiary of Paddy Power. Lately, I've been doing well but I don't want to withdraw $$ yet because I want to increase unit size and consequently need the bankroll. If I withdraw money now then I'll have to stick to my same unit size which will curtail potential success/failure.

My recent winnings are making me paranoid. This may come off as a brag but it's not.. I've lost much more than I've won.

Let's paint the unlikely scenario that I start getting deep into 5 figure winnings.. am I going to find it hard to withdraw my funds? From my understanding they are a bigger company and make like 80 million / 6 mths so I should be fine... i think...right? Do other people feel comfortable keepign large amounts of money in their online sportsbooks?
Should I get out of sportsbet and go to pinnacle?

My suggestion is if you are worried about it, stop playing there completely. Whether it takes days, weeks or months to get your funds however much you have, so be it. Switch books for a little while at least just to make sure you are getting some of your winnings.

Are you ACTUALLY knowledgeable when it comes to online books, or do you just throw out inaccurate statements hoping that uninformed people will buy this bs? You've said some pretty absurd things, but this tops it off.

Getting paid by Sportsbet is the least of your worries.

If you keep winning though you will soon find your bets will be limited to peanuts and then you may find your account closed down, as they did with mine.

Just one of the corporate cowards masquerading as online bookmakers in Australia.

But if the size of your balance is causing you to lose sleep, withdraw some and put it with one or more of the other Oz corporate cowards who offer essentially the same markets and odds as Sportsbet. Better still Pinnacle, Betfair, Matchbook or SBO depending on what sports you are betting on.

I was referring to Sportsbet.com.au in that post.
But I've been either banned or limited by all the online corporate cowards in Australia and the UK.
I don't believe it's so much a case of how "well" I did in terms of profits but they take a dislike to my habit of regularly beating their closing numbers. I suspect they think (incorrectly) that I'm an arber or steam chaser.

    Don't let hareeba scare you!

Sportsbet, Iasbet, sportingbet, Centrebet, tab, betstar and topsport (now with a nicely updated modern site, finally) are all safe and if you withdrew now with sportsbet it wont make any difference. Also unibet aus is safe, ladbrokes/bookamker aus too.

Your funds are very safe with all of them.

You do nothing but sledge books on limiting when you're part of the minority because you're obviously a crook, that's why books limit and ban u before you even place a bet sometimes. why don't you tell everyone why that really happens.

    He wont get limited.

    1. Pinnacle Very safe
    2. betcris Safe

Others are not. Even though bookmaker is betcris, they are not safe because they use that domain to book americans. betcris is not as safe as pinnacle because they book americans under different domain.

When they closed your account did you lose the money that was sitting in it? How severe were your limitations.. could you still wager 1000+ ?
With NBA around the corner I'll probably move money to Pinny. What are your recommendations for tennis betting?

No. Australian books are generally well regulated. They won't steal from you.

For racing they just ceased allowing me to bet fixed odds. For sports my limits were mostly less than a thousand cents!

I advocate having accounts with several books so that you can take advantage of the best odds on offer.

For all US sports your best options are Pinnacle and Matchbook.
For tennis Pinnacle, Betfair and Matchbook.
    For soccer add SBOBet.

And you'll never have to worry about being limited at any of them.

As far as i know bookies don't careabout how much you withdraw, more than that they care about their money were equal on both sides of the game. So they are interested in your wins until the point when you bets are so high that they don't receive enough money on the opposite side. So if you are getting really big - just split your money with 4-5 reliable bookies, and you'll worry less and there are even less chances for you to even get limited there. bet365, pinnacle, william hill, 5dimes, even you bet only 100 dollars at some, it will be 500 in total. so they will not worry about your winnings for a while at all

Sportsbet and TAB(if you're in victoria or NSW) if not then Sportsbet and Sportingbet.

You wont have any problems getting your bets on with them. Or the others I listed. Just avoid betezy and other betezy books.

What I believe he was trying to say was to withdraw profits promptly rather than let them accumulate. And then deposit again when funds are required to bet.

I know someone who was doing something similar using his CC. He would deposit ahead of the weekend and then withdraw the balance on Sunday night. Understandably the bookie didn't like it and refused to allow him to use his CC for future deposits.

I suppose to keep the bankroll in the bank makes sense.

Ideally I'd never deposit again so I'd like a big enough bankroll so i can ride losses and when I hit a certain dollar amount i withdraw a portion. i like the separation of gambling money vs personal money.

Of course I don't want that bankroll to disappear from a dodgy sportsbook. I feel like I can trust sportsbet...
