He is a businessman and sometimes in conducting your affairs you have to make unpopular decisions. And when there is not much competition you can stand your ground more. Bottom line is 5D gives US players best bang for their buck. But the shop is not for everyone.

its tough you know he is awfully crude when dealing with customers. but it is one of the best sports books. but i wouldnt be surprised if he had something to do with bullying sbr into restructuring its sports cash prizes. during the nfl preseason i had a discussion with him about 20% rebate on all my losses. he says you only deposited 200 bucks the rest are sbr handouts. i felt like saying go fuk yurself i earned those "handouts" but again he only gave me the 20 % on the 200. just acted like a prick throughout the conversation.

I have read the ridiculous chat conversations posted here from time to time, but honestly I have been with 5dimes since 2006 and have never had any complaints with Tony and he has always been very nice to me. I made a site suggestion to him personally and he made it happen in like two days (required programming).

There were two occasions that I dealt with Tony and in both situations he came through with flying colors when he did not have to. He is business who doesn't have time for BS. However, if you are reasonable and you are not trying to bust his balls, he will do what he can to help you out.

There's a guy over on 2+2 who cashed a teaser at +700000 when it should have been +7000 (I think those are the odds, but don't quote me on it). He messaged 5Dimes customer services on two occasions, after it had cashed asking if the teaser odds were correct, and he was assured by the staff that there were no issues whatsoever and his account would not be negatively affected. The cash was for in excess of $3000, and over the next couple of months he rolled it into the 30K range. Upon trying to cash out, Tony disabled his account, and said that he was holding the entire 30K+ sum, and was demanding the amounts that the poster had previously cashed out. Here's the conversation:

This is fraudulent and startlingly unreasonable behaviour. He owes Tony the money for which he is not entitled to for the teaser, and Tony owes him the remainder of his balance. What Tony did was freeroll the guy. Unreal.

I don't get it... you deposited $1,000... turned it into $3k, then into $30+k? And apparently they made a mistake on the winnings you withdrew?

Edit: Didn't read the information at the top of MD's post...

If 5Dimes made the mistake, they owe him.

If I mistakenly wager $20,000 on the Jacksonville Jaguars ML against the Patriots and I lose, I made the fukkin mistake, I owe the money.

never had a problem with Tony yet. as long as you conduct yourself professionally he does the same.
years and years ago I remember I never knew they had a rebate program. It must have been 2-3 years after I started there.
He took 15-20 mins of his time to help me out and make sure it was all taken care of.

their customer service is very very abrupt and to the point.. they are not a "feel good" type of sportsbook. it's ALL BUSINESS ALL THE TIME. you have to learn to adapt if you want to play there.

He didn't take a shot, though. He called them multiple times after the play cashed in order to tell them that they got the odds wrong, and they told him, multiple times, that there was no issue.

Most gamblers don't have problems with Tony, because they lose. Winners are those who do.

Often times its shot takers that actually have problems with Tony. Unfortunately sometimes he is wrong in his judgement of the situation and innocent people cop his wrath.

I wonder where Russian Rocket is... that mush never misses a chance to lick Tony's sack.

Yeah, I'm having that problem now. I've been with 5D for probably 12 years, and yesterday I accidentally, unknowingly, bet an off line (though it wasn't too off: +170 on a line that closed at Pinny +165, though probably +145 at Pinny at the time of the wager). First time I ever did it, cause if I know a line is sketchy, I don't bet it. Seriously. If I was a shot taker, it would have been clear in the first ten days, instead of not happening ever in more than ten years.

In fact I'm the opposite of a shot taker: once, in 2002, I ended up with a negative balance of $300 at 5D, in a post up account, because they'd graded a game wrong and I'd afterwards maxed out my account on other bets and they lost. I actually sent them the $300. I didn't use the account for a few years after that, either, so I didn't pay it off just to keep the account open.

So I have to ask, which is more likely: I, who have made thousands of bets there, none of which was ever at a wrong number, finally did it by accident ... or that I'm the type to make such bets and it just took me all these years to find one?

Anyway I got my limits crippled ($100 max, even on the Super Bowl), so I guess I'm done.

But I'd still, actually, recommend them to any new bettor. It's US facing, has lots of offers, reduced juice if you don't bet too big, and they do interbook transfers. Just somehow magically make sure you never accidentally bet a weak number.

so it means that Tony asked you to send the 300? There was an interesting thread a month ago where Tony erased all the winning from some guy because the first bet was paid out too much. I guess it is a win-win situation for him. SBR are you reading this?

i wonder how many deposit bet request a withdrawl and never deal with the infamous tony. i am guessing ALOT of people just get a check or control number with no contact. all the post that pop up about tony make seem like this is a one man super bookie shop.
