I have been working for 3-4 years building computer programs to project the outcome of games. As I have gotten closer to real results, I have had people come to depend on me. I got killed week 4 on college football than had several positive weeks only to get killed on week 9. Several people track my picks and they were not happy... and I also have my own money riding on the picks of course.
I lashed out at Heritage Sports because I was finally positive on Sunday during the NFL Games only to find out my evening bet was misplaced. Luckily, I noticed it early on and called them to cancel it. And even though, the line had actually moved the direction I bet... they wouldn't cancel. I was furious...and slightly inabbrieated...I could have hedged against myself but I didn't want to wipe out my minimal gains for the day because I had lost two weeks in a row.
Anyway, I have dealt with sportsbooks in the past and never had trouble cancelling a bet as long as the line hadn't move the wrong direction...So I was unhappy...Actually furious.
Again, sorry for polluting the board...
Enjoy
Dave
No prob, shit happens. For a Book to cancel a bet, it's a favor not a sure thing--they aren't obligated to do so. I see your point--what's the harm in killing the bet when there is no advantage for either side? Let it go and move on. GL with your system USMA.
