    BetDAQ thoughts?

A player wrote me, asking about BetDAQ. I've barely heard of them.

Anyone play here? What are your experiences?

forget about it, mixed it up with betdos .
i think betdaq is a solid betting exchange, but a major issue might be the lack of liquidity.

Edit: jayc88 realized he was confusing it with another company.

About BetDaq.. They are a decent exchange. A lot less liquidity than their competitor Betfair. If you are in to uk horse racing they can be quite good.

The exchange operates with a commission structure. You pay 5% of winnings, just like you do with Betfair. They have rebates on Asian Handicaps (2% commission) and in-running horse betting.

The main arguement for not using Betdaq is that they charge you for deposits and withdrawals, whereas Betfair will give you the charges back in to your account within a day or two. It is in a "promotional period", but it has been that way pretty much always...

The good thing with Betdaq is that you can negotiate yourself to a better commission. After Betfair introduced their Premium Charge (20%!!!) to high rolllers and big traders, Betdaq responded with a 2% commission to every body for a promotional period. After that period they went back to the standard 5%, but this can be negotiated if you promise to make a big deposit and play there for a while.

Payouts have been very fast for me, mostly by Moneybookers and Neteller. Never more than 2 days. They are very reliable and trusted. As for markets available, they don't come close to Betfair, but then again they don't have the user base to make it worth while.

By the way -- betdaq has the same odds/markets as Betmate (which in turn is related to 888), the main difference being that betmate offers a steady 3% commission - at least the last time I checked.

BetDaq is an exchange. BetMate is another skin of it. The same company also owns BetChronicle.

    Very solid in my estimation.

Key advantages over Betfair are lower commission and lack of a premium charge. In particular, they have good commission on Asian Handicaps (flat 2%), and you can negotiate a lower regular commission rate for all non-AH markets than you'd otherwise "earn" via points if you e-mail their sales people, and put through a good amount.

Key disadvantages: low liquidity on some markets, fee to deposit via Moneybookers.

AFAIK 888Sport and BlueSquare are related, but neither is connected to BetDaq.

You may be right, but then I don't understand why it says 888.com all over the betmate site You even get the Pacific Poker request when you exit the window.

So if Betmate is a skin of betdaq, then they are at least somehow related..

I've never been charged for a deposit via Maestro HSBC debit card, but the Moneybookers charge is annoying.

Other than that, I agree with you. I left Betfair after their 20% premium charge was put in place (it wasn't affecting me, but I felt it was shoddy behaviour, and didn't want to line their pockets any more) and moved over to BetDaq on 2% commission all round. Excellent service all round - reasonably quick withdrawals back to card.

If you can negotiate getting your commission reduced, then I recommend it. Otherwise, Betmate is exactly the same, but at lower commission on most markets (a standard of 3% rather than 5%), and if you use firefox there's even a greasemonkey script to get rid of the pop-up box when you close it.

One thing I have heard is that they seed their racing markets quite heavily, then remove it if anyone tries to match it, giving the appearance of higher liquidity than in reality.

A good exchange I was on a 2% comm deal for quite a while there but went to their 'skin' Betmate when they would not offer me the 2% deal anymore - Betmate charge 3% comm.

Payouts are very fast & deposits are free if using a debit card.

One of the safest outfits around (People behind it are mega-rich )

    I would definitely recommend them

Betdaq are very solid, i also concur with what others have wrote, though liquidity is not that brilliant.

Anothere xchange worthy of mention is WBX, but again liquidity issues.

Also Betmate is a skin of betdaq, betmate is owned by 888.com, but 888.com dont own betdaq lol

Basically its just a skin that 888.com owns, the skin is provided by betdaq

When I played there last year moneybookers deposits were not instantly credited.
Had to mail or wait for it to appear.

Bit annoying if you want to do a quick trade.

Maybe I misunderstood about 888Sport and BlueSquare, but their odds always seem the same...? See http://www.bettingpro.com/bookmaker/888Sport/ and http://www.sportsbookreview.com/sbr/888sport/

I've never played at BetMate, so haven't seen the 888 / Mate connection on the site.

Not only that they are not instant. Betdaq takes also fees for every Moneybookers and Neteller deposit.

One may take the odds from the other, that is not unusal.

Bluesq is owned by the Rank Group

    http://www.rank.com/businesses

888sport is owned by 888 Holdings

    http://www.888sport.com/sports-info/uk/About.shtml

Both are listed on the stock exchange

BETDAQ like BETFAIR are a bitch to start a account with.I was planning to bet some baseball during the summer in order to built up my bankroll by betting with those 2 along with MATCHBOOK.As we speak i still haven't open with any off them.Even MATCHBOOK is a pain in the ass these days,I've always made my payments by either bank wires or flying over to the U.K.,however matchbook does not take Canadian bank wires anymore. You have to use all those weird instadebit kind bullsh*t or a credit card(i never do on the net) but no **.
Both Betfair & Betdaq insist to be provide a utility bill, bank account statement and Driver License/passport I.D. card(everything need it for the ultimate identity theft).I have been driving with a expired driver's license since January because at one time i could not afford to get a new one but now i ain't got the time to go sit at the DMV to get one.and my passport must be renewed also. The worst thing about these betfair assholes was that last year i had a account with these c*cksuckers till October 5th,however they nonetheless feel the need to f*ck around with me anyway.
When i tried to register with BETDAQ their website didn't except the demand because it identified my phone number as a u.s. one.So i got a email 2 days later telling me to set-up a phone appointment in order for them to call and make the registration over the phone. Also remember both matchbook and betdaq does not take Canadian dollars on top of that....
Again i ain't got time for that now so I'll wait till the last moment just before the NFL start to get it done.
BETDAQ as also made the fatal mistake of not taking U.S. bets (unlike TRADESPORTS) and i believe that it will bury them in the end

Just to clarify: 888casino/pacificpoker own .....

    1) A sportsbetting site, 888sport. It's operated for them by bluesquare. Limiting and so on are the same.

    2) An exchange, betmate. It's operated for them by betdaq. Betmate has the advantage you get default 3% commission on winnings.

I am waiting for the U.S.$ to go down a bit to open a account with Matchbook, they are now accepting wire wire transfer payments from Canadians, therefore i will definitely send my $ to them.Once one has bigger bankroll one can than go up a nuch to BOOKMAKER and PINNACLES.
I have given up on the U.K. exchanges they are A good places to bet but all that B.LLSHIT with the passports and driver's is the kind of nonsense i will not put up with anymore, especially when i am the one sending cash to some UK assholes not the other way around.NOBODY DOES WHAT THESE F.UCK-UPS DO!!!NOBODY!!!And let's not forget by providing all these critical documents to them one can pull the mother of all ID theft scam and eons might go by before they would ever get caught.
Till the U.K. exchanges get a hold of themselves i am going elsewhere, one would think that they think that they are the only mother-f.cking game in town. f.ck'em

They have upped their comm rate to 5% - supposed to be from 1st April but maybe applies immediately to new Accounts

I am still getting 3% but I expect that to be raised in April. Which will then make it stupid to use them as Betdaq have a much better interface.

No Betdaq is a lot slicker & shows the amount that has been matched on the Event you are going to bet on

I would much prefer the 3% to stay with Betmate though. Don't really see how they are going to get any custom banging their comm up to 5%

I'm using Betdaq more often nowadays because of the 2% on Asian handicaps, there's enough liquidity on Big League markets and the odds just follow Betfair's odds.
