The phrase, "We will never ask you for your password" has been universally understood to be the basic baseline of even the loosest run non-financial websites.

There are so many simple fixes for 99% of these hacking accusations and actual occurances.

If BOL would institute the lowest level of account security, (anything above tier one phone clerks having verifying access to the MOST sensitive customer data), we would see a dramatic drop in both actual hacking and the false claims.

What goes on during a phone conversation or live chat session with CS that requires the SAME password used for website login? Nothing!

Out of all the crap we've seen/read about problems with books, this one is truly the definition of utter insanity, since the fix is SO easy, and the rewards are SO tremendous.

I tend to doubt this as in so many cases they end up crediting the customer's account, and eat the bad press.
Your scenario would make more sense if we had a handle as to how much of this we never find out about, seeing only the cases lucky enough to find SBR.
