GTBets to add mobile platform
GTBets management tells SBR that they are working a new mobile platform set to launch late summer, as well as an upgraded version of their website.
On August 15th 2011, SBR reported that GTBets was operating on the same server, sharing phone numbers and website layout as the defunct VIP Sports, which closed earlier in the month. During that time, there was uncertainty surrounding the fate of players' balances who held funds at the VIP Sportsbook group.
One month later, SBR reported on September 5th that GTBets.com would honor all outstanding VIP Sportsbook player balances. SBR reported that GTBets fully acquired the VIP Sportsbook software, hardware, and retained key management personnel. GTBets would not disclose the total amount of players not dollars owed to VIP Sports or Nine.com players, but stated that all players would be contacted to arrange for final payment.
SBR reported of few claims from VIP Sports players who GTBets assumed the balances of in subsequent months. In each case, GTBets addressed the claims. GTBets itself has generated no noteworthy complaints from players; the sportsbook offers a popular bonus program, player friendly payment methods and has ranked highly on customer service. GTBets tells SBR that they are hoping to move past any association with VIP Sports, and are looking to be considered on its own merits.
GTBets' sportsbook rating has been upgraded from C to C+. Players with feedback are asked to write to SBR.
