Do I Have A Legitimate Beef With Legends Here?

Wondering if I should bitch and moan about this or just keep my mouth shut. Here's the deal, I'm a pretty good sports bettor (usually hit 5 or 6 units a week), but I'm a degenerate blackjack player, can't stay away from it. I've been up a grand and back under all in a night's work. So as a result I have requested to have my access to the casino blocked to prevent me from wasting all my winnings.

On occasion I get the itch and ask to go back, to which they allow me by simply asking for my password. The other day I took a big hit and asked to be BANNED so it would stop once and for all. Of course I hit 5 units last night and then decided to see if I can pad that a little bit. I ask this one chick via chat if I can have access to which she agrees. This happened AFTER I tried earlier in the afternoon and was refused by another girl which I appreciated in retrospect.

Anyway, I proceed to lose everything last night and am now furious both with myself and the system. I clearly asked to not be allowed back in and yet they kept letting me in. I try tonight just for the heck of it to see if I can get in with a few bucks left in my account and NOW they all say upper management has a note for them to not allow me access. Shouldn't that note have been in place yesterday BEFORE I lost $500? Do I have a right to argue for that $ back as I shouldn't have even been allowed in? Please let me know what you guys think and thanks for the read.

UPDATE: A simple email detailing things was enough to open a review and they offered me a settlement on the matter for which I'm happy with. Legends is definitely an A+ book, if nothing else they offer great customer service.

Yeah, figured that much. Still irks me that they wait until my account is at $0 to instill the ban I requested days ago. Would've saved me ALOT of money if they had done what I asked when I asked them to.

I did, that's the problem. They let me go back twice after I asked and THEN they blocked me after I lost almost everything.

I think that having requested (and been given) a permanent banning from the casino, any subsequent wins or losses in the casino should be voided.

    Very tricky scenario sadly.

On the one hand I would say that YES there should be a permanent block with no chance of re-opening, and that any winnings or losses that occured after that point if the block was lifted should be null and void.

Having said that, had you been allowed back in and won on blackjack and then subsequently had those winnings voided due your earlier exclusion request, then likely you would still be in dispute with them about them with-holding winnings from you.

A lot also depends on the exact set-up they have there - it may be that the regular CS agents are able to block/unblock on request but that only Upper Management have the authorisation to permanently block or ban the casino, so I guess there is a chance that your initial request to permanently ban you was still working its way up the ladder when the CS agent allowed you back in.

My advice would be to send an email to them asking what their exact policy is in regards to this and mention the exact time of the request to permanently block the casino as well as what time you lost your money after that and see if you can reason with them and if they say bad luck then mention that you would be following up with the Panama Gambling Control board. As long as you are respectable, maybe even humble about it, then there is a small chance that they could re-imburse you, but if you start getting nasty and threatening etc then they would more than likely say FU.

My gut says you wont get anything, but then again you may end up being surprised - though having never dealt with Legends, or the Panama GCB then I really have no idea.

    Best of Luck

Thanks Maniac, I do feel it's a bit touchy, but I have a right to ask. I fired off an email stating the details of the situation (including dates, times, and people I spoke with) and just asked that they review the situation in hopes of voiding the sessions from that timeframe. If I get a less than favorable response I will definitely follow up in the manner you mentioned. I don't want to be a prick about it because that won't get me anywhere, but they are well aware of my complaining about losing in the casino and asking many times for blocks so hopefully someone will put 2 and 2 together to see that this could have been prevented.

Then again... Gambling is for men, not for children. You are the owner of your account bro and you decided to open it and close it and open it again. By making this complaint you're not only going to be banned for the sportsbook and casino but for sure they'll pass your name along. Suck it up, act like a man and learn from it.

Most HAVE all been there, you will get past it and hopefully learn from the mistake. Ultimately it is 100% on you to do with what you want with your money.

Play at a book that doesn't have a casino. If there are any

Does it matter what the outcome is here? Good luck with this situation, but it would appear that the OP has a Massive self-discipline problem, to state the extremely obvious. I'm sure he'll find himself in the same situation again before too long.....

Why dont you ask them if you can get a freeplay or something...most books give a percentage back of casino losses in the form of freeplay.

No beef. You should have emailed them for permanant block and had them email you back to confirm or checked to make sure a note was placed in your account after the very first time you requested it to be.

Despite the criticism here, I appreciate the feedback. I know I messed up and I admit to having a problem, I just don't want to quit betting sports. Unfortunately any reputable book always has a casino and Legends has been good to me regarding bonuses and payouts so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Hoping for some compensation simply because of the lack of enforcement on their behalf (how hard is it for them to leave the access closed? especially after the first agent says the ban is in place?). So far I got a neutral reply to my email that the assistant manager sent my email to upper management and if it was such an open and close case then I'm sure I would've gotten an earful from them already. Fingers crossed & lesson learned for sure.

SBR has dealt with this issue in the past. The problem is that if a book refuses to reinstate a previously blocked account, the player typically opens a new account. This causes many more headaches than a permanent block would solve.

If you have a gambling problem, your best bet is to keep all money out of sportsbooks/casinos.

Would you be crying if you won?

Ultimately you are free rolling the casino if you lose you cry that you should not have been allowed to play if you win you gladly take your winnings.

Anytime a player has that much of a problem that they need to ask the casino to block their access the casino should do whats right and also block your access to the sportsbook and send you a pamphlet for gamblers anonymous.

I dont think you are entitled to get anything back but if there is one sportsbook that will throw you a bone and maybe give you your losses back, its definately legends.

Legends is all class, let that be known. Regardless of how much you all think I deserve to lose it all and get lost, they at least respect me as a loyal customer and treated my case fairly. They offered me a partial refund (with rollover of course) but I am more than happy with the outcome. Let this be a lesson that loyalty to a sportsbook does pay because I've been with them for years and never made a fuss over anything else.

That's the kind of thing I'm talking about. I know brick and mortar casinos can literally kick you out if you inform them in writing that you have a problem and that's all I wanted, not to be able to lose my money in droves on games that have a house edge. I'd prefer to lose my money on my miscalculations in sports betting because at least it stings a little less.

Just messing with you buddy. I do get a chuckle out these claims, though. But you did preface that with "usually" so you are fine.

I am being Honest, a friend of mine was addicted to a game call: Magic The Gathering. it is a trading card game. he used to spent all his money on that.

As soon as he got paid, he would go to the store a buy $200 in cards.

And he didnt make that much. He made like 500 per month something like that.

    And he has a kid.

And that went for years, when he realized he spent like 5K in cards he tried to sell all that shit, but nobody wanted it.

Yeah I should've stressed the "usually" more WVU

And acarmelo1, I definitely believe it. My vice before was hockey cards. Collected packs whenever I could. Got a job and those packs became boxes which run for hundreds of dollars. Needless to say most of them are junk, but the few good ones I got managed to get me some return on them. Still have stacks of them in the house (the ones worth something at least), but it's hard to find someone to clean up after you shit so to speak.

I realize that blackjack is almost like russian roulette when playing on a budget so I'm done for sure. I'd like to ease out of gambling altogether, but I seem to have a good thing going with the cappers I follow so I'm going to let my bankroll ride and take it from there. Hopefully no more deposits, that's the goal!

Dude you are not good at betting sports, you are lucky so far...legends shitty lines are not beatable in the long run by a square with a gambling problem, so just look for some serious help before you hit the brick wall there as well. All other advice is bullshit.

I agree...Legends is all class. They are not afraid to go outside the box a little to treat their customers right. Having said that, you were definately lucky to get any part of your losses back. BOL with making that refund pay off.
