    US Players

With all this domain seizing going on, does anyone know if some US players are being contacted by the feds for playing on some of the sites?

Yes, it's going on in a big way

However, no one felt that this - one of the most major events in the history of the offshore sportsbetting world - was worthy of a single post on any of the forums.

Looks like I may have to stop playing off shore if this is going on.

Outside of losing money you have in an account in the event that the book shuts down and doesn't pay you? Pretty much nothing.

NOTE: My previous post was of the sarcastic variety.

Don't think they will bother their residents for just playing online. Unless people who operate a online betting site.

Too late if you have already bet online before. Damage is done

LOL. What "damage" has been done exactly?

Idiocy is one of the reasons I don't post alot here. Read the statute, understand the law.

Do they go after the addicted crack person on the street?
Do they arrest the pot smoker in golden gate park?

The only worry players should have is being able to get their money out. Look at full tilt for example (no payout) versus pokerstars which paid US players. So hopefully whatever books you use are legit and will pay out

NO, despite what some of the jokers in this thread has said.

And there is no reason to be concerned with having 5-digit balances at places like Bookmaker, The Greek or 5 Dimes, as those three books are not going anywhere.

You may need to be more careful at most lower rated books however.

    Like what?

    Bookmaker DOT com?

What the hell are you talking about?

And John Dough, this isn't a strong subject material to be sarcastic about. I, for one, can only assume the worst about the entire niche before going forward.

When people ask if feds are contacting players and make similar comments/questions without doing any research on the subject, I think it's a perfect time for sarcasm. If you don't care for my sarcasm, please exercise your prerogative to ignore me.

Switching topics, what is your question about Bookmaker exactly? I concur with the other poster's opinion that they remain one of the safest books on the planet.

I don't understand what you are saying?

Everyone's money is safe at Bookmaker, they have more money than the US Government.

To put it another way, absolutely nothing has changed at Bookmaker since the domain seizure other than the domain name change, it has still been business as usual and they are paying out on time. There is nothing to be worried about.

In fact, no player, and no casino, has ever been prosecuted, only sportsbook owners.
