Canbet, are they regulated by the Aussie goverment?

Canbet have a UK Gambling Commission licence. They are also a member of the IBAS adjudication service. Whether or not any of that means anything is questionable.

However their call centre is based in Melbourne, Australia. Does this mean that they will be regulated by the Australian Northern Territory Goverment like other Australian books?

Isn't the rule of thumb where their servers are based?

Canbet used to be a good book until a few years ago, when ownership changed and they became trash. No idea about jurisdictions. Only thing that matters is : avoid.

Canbet are only regulated by IBAS, if that is a regulation at all. Nothing to do with their Australian past, when they used to be top-notch

Melbourne also isn't in the NT; regulation differs state to state in Aus...

Interesting. I did actually have a concern with them, I had built up a balance here and was undergoing the ID verification which was taking a little too long I felt (a required part of the process is a photo of yourself holding your drivers licence next to your face).

Due to the time difference between UK and Melbourne I was struggling to get hold of staff and wasn't particularly impressed with no response to my queries as to whether my documents in order.

To a certain degree though, these concerns were unfounded, in fact I have had similiar lack of communication from other high profile sportsbooks such as bet365 regarding ID verification matters. However the fact that is was canbet makes you a little more nervous than it would do with 365.

In fairness to Canbet, my ID is now verified and I did receive a call back from a manager as was promised. Withdrawal currently pending (their standard system is for withdrawals to pend for 48 hours).

I did PM Justin to ask if it was a little early to get fidgety, and he told me to give it time and work with them, as the Aus Goverement imposes crazy laws on them.

There are a few bad reports on here about Canbet but they usually relate to bonus rollover requirement issues rather than account issues.

You hear so many negative comments about various books I am sure you will all agree that is only right positve experiences should be posted also - my payout (mid 4 figures) was processed succesfully and hit moneybookers very quickly after their standard 48 hour wait period.
