how do you select winners? advice please

how do you great soccer cappers select winners?

    do you go for the:
    1. trend
    2. home/away record
    3. head to head
    4. sticking to just one league
    5. go to sites like windrawin and soccervista to look
for prediction of over/under scores and/or straight out winners
    6. others

need help badly. i lost a ton this week:

-two under 2.5 lost via penalty kick in the 90th minute. those were two different games played on the same night

-one game losing after the home team led but not until the 65th min

-one under 2.5 lost after a 1-1 draw just in the 14th min of the first half. no more goals afterwards

-one under 2.5 lost after a goaless first half

-one under 2.5 lost after a 1-0 first half

a lot of tough losses indeed. i did well the previous week just capping games on my own but im a newbie capper so its just beginner's luck i guess.

i really dont know where to go

    help please

Wish I knew how to select winners

Anyways try to look at recent h2h meetings
Average of goals being scored at home/away by those teams
Wait until they release the line up to see if they play defensively or attacking
Look what teams have done in the past games, top teams if they lost usuall bounce back etc.

But the most important for me is gut feeling.

There's no math in soccer. Average of goals scored home/away won't help you. Gotta go with gut feeling.

Ofcourse it helps. A low scoring team will likely score less then a high scoring powerhouse. Its some info which can help u a bit.

Of course it gives you an idea but it doesn't give the whole picture.

    Just Like Fergie Said,

Statistics are like mini-skirts .. they give you good ideas but hide the most important parts..
