    My soccer thread discussion 2011

    Birmingham v Man City

Birmingham must decide whether to hand debuts to new signings Obafemi Martins and Curtis Davies.
Roger Johnson, Cameron Jerome and Craig Gardner are expected to start after being rested at the weekend.

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini looks set to reinstate Vincent Kompany, Nigel de Jong, Kolo Toure and David Silva to his starting line-up.

Carlos Tevez is expected to shake off a back strain, but Adam Johnson will miss the next three months through injury.

    Birmingham
Injured: Dann (hamstring), McFadden (knee), Valles (foot)

    Man City
    Doubtful: Tevez (back)
Injured: Balotelli (knee), Johnson & Richards (both ankle)

    Head-to-head
    • The two sides fought out a goalless draw at Eastlands during November.
    • It's five-and-a-half years since Manchester City's last win at St Andrew's. Joey Barton and Andrew Cole supplied the goals in a 2-1 comeback win in August 2005.
    • Alex McLeish has overseen one win, two draws and one defeat against Manchester City since taking charge of Birmingham.

    LEADING GOALSCORERS

    Birmingham
    Gardner: 5 goals (4 league);
    Jerome & Ridgewell: 4 goals (3 league)

    Man City
Tevez: 16 goals (14 league); Balotelli: 8 goals (5 league)

    LAST LEAGUE MATCH LINE-UPS

Birmingham (L0-5 v Man Utd, a): Foster; Carr, Johnson, Ridgewell, Murphy, Bentley (Gardner 85), Ferguson, Mutch, Fahey (Larsson 64), Hleb (Jerome 46), Derbyshire. Subs not used: Doyle, Bowyer, Zigic, Jiranek.

Yes, cannot see Birmingham getting anything against man City. They seem to be playing poorer as the season progresses and it will be tough for them to avoid relegation.
