Speaking on Saturday after Crawley Town became only the sixth non-league side to progress to the fifth round since World War II, manager Steve Evans said it was his wish to play Sir Alex's men at Old Trafford.

"Don’t worry, even if we go to Old Trafford, we’ll go there to win."

Crawley have scored over 20 and conceded just 2 in the last 9 or 10 matches. And have kept a clean sheet in all but 2 of those.

Take Crawley Town lightly at your peril.

I remember United being held to a 0-0 draw by non-league Exeter at Old Trafford a couple of years ago.

A couple of bookmakers have the match already priced up: http://www.oddschecker.com/football/...crawley/winner

Not too different from a random La Liga match at Nou Camp to be honest.

Anyone know of any books available to Americans that might offer a 'Chicharito to score' play?

Betfair will probably have the best odds for this

Didn't Manchester United draw the last time they played a non-league team in the cup... Burton Albion (before winning the replay, which yes, I realise is the last time they played a non-league team, but you get my point)

if SAF plays starters, then 10-0....
    if substitutes (mostly), then 4-1....
if complete reserves team, then 1-1...

I wasn't saying they would win. Just that they won't be near as bad as the OP suggested.

yes anything is possible, but the replay at Old Trafford was 5-0. The other draw against Exeter in 2005 (at OT) we pretty much started every reserve available...Djemba-Djemba...sigh. I would say the difference then and now is the depth of squad and quality of 'reserves' partly due to the way big clubs have had to spend in today's market. United 'reserves' which I use loosely here would now likely feature guys like Chicarito, Owen, Obertan, O'Shea, Smalling, Evans, Park, Anderson/Scholes. I'll leave out Gibson because I just don't rate him and Giggsy will likely just sub in for him at half-time as usual. Valencia may get a run out as he'll be near return. We'll have to see how weakend a team Fergie will field as we'll be playing Marseille away just a few days later in CL.

Anyhow, it would be monumental for Crawley Town to beat United at Old Trafford so yes, the odds will be ridiculous. I know it's the FA Cup and anything can happen, but no disrespect, the class betwen a top-tier Premiership club and a Non-League club is huge in today's market and I don't think United will want to be playing a replay at this stage of the season. Good for Crawley Town to make it this far (although they're already flush with cash), but we'll show them which Red Devils team is superior.

I'm going to put a tiny bet on Crawley so in the (very) off chance they do win, I can rejoice with them in their biggest victory of all time. I did it last game and it felt goooooood... there's just something about a huge underdog -- it's the kind of stuff movies are made out of.
