    Chachi's Trebles

Successfully traded and bet football singles (soccer) for a number of years while living in London, now moved to Cyprus but it's not slowed me much.

Occasionally like to have a go on a treble in isolation, will post them here and reasons why for anyone who might fancy them.

    Sun 25 July

Manchester City v New York Red Bulls
    Santos v Sao Paolo
    Stabaek v Rosenborg

    10/1 for €50

    ManCity to Win
    Santos to Win
    Stabaek to Draw

While preseason friendlies are rarely anything to write home about, and results this week have not been stellar for the English sides, I can't see the "new set of galacticos" at MCFC not winning this, NY is a decent side but outmatched here.

Santos, not much to say here really, Sao Paolo should be lucky to get a scoring chance, and Santos should bang in 2 or 3.

Stabaek is the bogey match ... Rosenborg should win this but Stabaek's home form has been better than one would think and I believe they can snatch this one, alternatively one could substitute Stabaek-or-Draw here to halve or thereabouts the payout.

Yep, arguably that'd be the banker if doing 2 of 3s

    Santos 1-0
NY 2-1 on a wonder goal (ManCity are sh!t still it seems)
Stabaek beaten by a late goal which really hurt as my 2 of 3s would have been a saver.

Still think I had it right on Stabaek

GL. Lose or win . I like strategies .

SBR sportsbook got this game Banfield vs Olimpo kick off time/day wrong

    Sun, 2010 August 08. @ 10:10 NOT TODAY !!!

I like Banfield to win ! But the odds are short (for the straight bet)
On the other hand Banfield @ -167 is not that bad ,they are the league winners / Power house so the odds are fair .
Parleying Banfield with 2 other BEST bets would be the way to go . 7 gamer Oh you know how they work /often .
Twente game should be an easy over 2.5 .

    My 2 cents .
    Cheers GL.

Heheheh .... I didnt notice the date was wrong on here but I did know it was not today, I think they are an easy win, short, but easy.

I could not find another football on here I fancied so lumped in all the tennis favs to make up for it, I think the payout on the pile is decent all things taken into consideration.

and yes have overs on Twente with a few euro bookies for a few hundred euros

    Code:
    WagerType:PARLAY (6 TEAMS)
    Date:	Team:
    Aug 15	SOC [8430] BORDEAUX -190
    Aug 15	SOC [8530] FC UTRECHT -175
    Aug 15	SOC [8718] FLUMINENSE -167
    Aug 15	SOC [8738] GREMIO -160
    Aug 15	SOC [8830] ESTUDIANTES -200
    Aug 15	SOC [8934] AMERICA -167
Risking 5 SBR To Win 69.72 SBR
Methinks Gremio is my only likely possible problem here, but the multiple is worth the shot

Haha, that's immense. My dad talks about those times a lot. Scouse here, so it's usually about Anfield.

Ah ... am a yank actually, lived in London until 07 when I moved to Cyprus, used to work for Barclays. When I first moved over, they put me up in a flat in Parsons Green, almost exactly halfway between the Cottage and Stamford Bridge. A mate took me to two matches at Stamford, sat in the shed end (which was not the friendliest place back then) and another took me to the Cottage for a match. Liked the family atmosphere and the 'sit wherever the F you like' aspect at the Fulham, sort of adopted them and had season tickets until we moved.

Years later a new coworker tried to give me some aggro about 'how cute, a yank who supports fulham with all their yanks in the squad, how original' and a huge bellied (stereotypical) NUFC supporter who sat near me on the trading floor about took his head off pointing out that I'd had season tickets for about 9 years at that point and to STFU

Nearly cried my eyes out when wanker Forlan bunged in that late goal in Hamburg, but to be fair the still scintillating-to-watch-again second leg against Juve should have been our last match in the competition ... we did ourselves and English football proud with our performances but it still hurts a bit to remember it.

It's funny, in the years I'd been to Bristol City and Lincoln I think on cold, rainy weeknights for cup ties, to Villa Park for the cup semi many years ago, and all assorted grounds in between, used it as a great excuse to get out and see more of the UK.

Must admit am a bit amazed at "where we were then" vs "where we are now" and that I don't think any side looks forward to a trip to the Cottage anymore unlike the early days and as witnessed by Man U Liverpool and Arsenal in recent seasons we can reasonably think about 3pts on the day over anyone home or away.

Funniest memory was away at Spurs probably 02 or 03, sitting in the away section in the corner with a safety officer standing about 10ft away. Late in the match Anderton starts warming up (after one of his numerous injury absences) and I shouted 'Oi .... Sick Note ... the nurse is looking for you at the ward' and the safety officer spluttered his tea all over his jacket he was laughing so hard

    That is boss.

Better a Cottager than a Chelsea rent-boy, imo. You get far more respect.

Always loved doing Fulham aways. The Cottage is easily my favourite stadium after Anfield in England. Lovely little place and the fans are a cracking bunch as well. Would have loved it if your lot won against Atletico last season. Was in the bar after we got knocked out and heard about your lots win over Juventus. A mighty cheer went around.

I've been to a fair few aways in England but my favourites are following Liverpool in Europe. Best night though would probably be Olympiakos at home in 2004, when Gerrard scored the screamer to take us through. Fell 5-6 rows down the Kop celebrating.

Also loved doing United away. Was always tough with the inbred oysters. And getting to the station is a nightmare everytime. But just can't beat the feeling of smashing those oysters on the field and then doing them one off it as well.

Started uni in the US two years ago so I go to less games now. Make it to about 3-4 in a year, which is a massive jump-down from the 30-40 odd games I used to do. Can't wait to get done with uni so I can return home.

That Darren Anderton story is ******* hilarious.

My mate once shouted at Gary Neville, "Oye Neville, you inbred ******* oyster!" and Neville turned around to look and him and my mate goes, "Youse got a gob like a ******* rat, you bastard". Neville stared at the rooster_eater while the rest of us around him pissed ourselves laughing.

Other one now that comes to mind, away at the Bridge after Lampard's place got burgled, down in the away end for a corner kick. ~1000 Fulham fans, to the tune of "Ta-ra-ra Boom-de-ay" ..

    We've got Frank's plasma screen, we've got Frank's plasma screen ...

He turns to us laughing his arse off and gives us a clap

Fat Frank is alright. A decent guy. Gave him loads of stick but takes it in his stride.

Couple of seasons ago when the Geordies were approaching relegation, they appointed Shearer. 3-0 and we started singing the MOTD tune followed by "Stayed on telly, you should've stayed on telly". Turned to us, gave us a wave and a smile.
