    About f'in time

    1-0 Oranje

Van Persie finally scores, Holland playing not so good again but winning, can't wait for Robben to come back, imagine when they are playing good. However, their defense still is not looking impressive, even against this awful Cameroon side.

Another unimpressive Holland performance, Van Der Vart should be in his rightful position which is as Sneijders sub on the bench!

The defense is letting a team as disorganized and awful as Cameroon make them look weak at the back.

Kary the problem in my mind is that Holland just arent that good. When they go out people will realize that.

The defending is tragic, the holding midfielders play like masochists as if they enjoy letting opponents tear past them...

The attack is world class, the defense could cost them the cup though.

Again they wasn't impressive but won, which is an impressive achievement in itself as they will have a good game especially if Robben returns and Van Der Vaart is kept away from the wing.

    Exactly.

VDV is trying to compete with Sneijder for the 'number 10 spot'. He played for himself, and clogs up the spaces by not staying in his position. This is the second game this tournament that Holland played much better after he left the pitch. I hope he won't return at all.

With Robben back, the team looked much more dynamic. They should play Robben and Van Persie on the wings. The whole point of wingers is that crosses from the backline, or at least from behind the defense, mean that the defense has their eyes off what is happening to their side (in front of goal) and behind them. By not using the wingers like this, the defense can oversee everything in front of them without ever having to turn their heads. The first Dutch cross came halfway in the second half. Terrible. Even Robben, when he plays on the right, always turns inside.

The defense isn't that bad. They let in one goal in the tournament so far (and three in their last 11 competitive matches), and it was an easily given penalty. If the ref gives it, he has to give the Dutch a penalty as well. But he seemed more interested in handing out pointless yellow cards (annoying, because this time, for some strange reason, they're not wiped clean until after the quarter finals). Brazil will be a problem for this defense, but the other teams on this side of the draw not so much.

Great analyses on how the Dutch play.

When Robben came back the difference was ridiculous, he instantly changed the game, him and Ellia picked the Cameroon defense up like a flimsy sheet of paper and ripped it in half.

They are much better when they use the width of the pitch and stretch their opponents, Van Der Vaart was the most annoying man on the pitch yesterday. Taking all the free kicks in prime Sneijder positions, kept drifting in from the wings, gave no threat on the wings and gave away a penalty.

The interesting thing is, they haven't played great, haven't had Robben but still won every game.
