Brazil +500 is tremendous value. European teams have never won a World Cup played outside of Europe, and Argentina are coached by Maradona.

I'll play this one big I think.

Haha, just checked William Hill (placed my bet there yesterday). odds are 29 now. I think a certain Guus Hiddink might have something to do with that ^^

Ivory Coast odds might be heading back to 50 to 1.

Sven is rumored to be taking over the job.

bottom line is this- any team that has never won the world cup before isnt worth a penny to bet on.

Now that is just insane but surely possible...I don't know if our guys have the experience to go that far.

I would gladly take Serbia to advance to the next stage though at +115.

Mexico has zero chance as well. They are too short, plain and simple, give em some tall players and might have a shot.

    england or spain ....
    why ?
england - this generation : gerrard, terry, lampard, ferdinand, is closely coming to their 30s, or are already there....This is much their last chance to win a major trophy with their national team (and i think many ppl agree that the world cup is easier to win than the european championship). Plus, Rooney has a great 2010 so far.
spain - probably the best team in the world, perfectly balanced. i cannot find a single weak player in their starting 11. Best midfielders of the world, not the best strikers but good enough and a safe defense, plus a gk that rarely does errors but rather keeps a clean sheet

completely agree...I really dont believe that any of us will live to catch the day when a team outside Europe or South America will win the WC (altough if we think back to 2002, South Korea & the refs were very close)

As much as I hope England wins, really doubt their chances at the moment. Too many injuries at the back and other than Rooney, can you really say any other player is at the top of their game right now? Still think England is good enough to win the group (with the US to advance) but if things go accordingly, we'll face Brazil in the semis which would be tough. Right now, seeing a Brazil/Spain final.

    Rooney- England top scorer
    Messi- Argentina top scorer
    David Villa- Spain top scorer
    Luis Fabiano- Brazil top scorer

All three good bets for tournaments leading scorers too.

Anyone else watch Brazil in the confederations cup last summer like I did? They came back vs a solid US team 2-0 to win 3-2 in the final. They scored one of the best team made goals in the friendly games vs Ireland.

Can we get a list or picture of what teams meet after qualifying? This way we can predict how far teams go...

    Are you from Uruguay? :P

Serbia are my dark horses for the tournament.

If you really want a WC future bet, put money on Belgium winning the 2014 WC.

im from Turkey .....no in the world cup

as for Serbia, strong in strong defence, seem to lack quality in attacking quaters, not sure about the strike force, and theres stonger midfields

on a serious note, Ghana are the best of the African teams, they have a very slim chance, should pass a round or two, good organized team

I think the African teams don't have as much quality as European and South American teams, yet.

The Black Stars will shine in Africa, nobody talks about Ghana, they are the most under the radar team. Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Cameroon take all the spotlight in Africa, none will make it past the first round except maybe Cameroon.

Everybody laughs at Ghana but they are much better than people think.

I like Uruguay aswell, Tabarez is doing a good job with the team, alot of talent there which is being well organized.

Value or not like i said any team that hasnt won the world cup before aint winning this time. Value is overrated. Why are Brazil +500?
This is an exclusive club and only france made recent entry in 1998- cause they were at home. Nobody is allowed in the club that easily. Sure some no names may make noise but when push comes to shove its gonna be the same thing like usual- dont be surprised to see germany in the final.
