    Soccer picks by rentongfb

    Hello everybody,

Been following soccer since i was like 5 years old, as it is the biggest sports phenomenon in rest of the world. Grow up in europe watching all those teams like Barca, Real Madrid, Arsenal, Manchester, Milan, Internazionale, Munchen, PSG, Lyon, Ajax, and all others. I am originally from Turkey, so you can consider me a local info source for the Turkish Super League.

Respect to all American friends i have named the thread soccer, although i believe it is the one and only football, and yes, there is draw and 0-0 in this game.

Will try to give picks and sometimes if i have enough time, reviews about games. I will keep records of won-lost-push, and give stakes 1-5. Hope it will be helpful for anybody who is interested...

    Cheers

Good luck! Looks like a lot of people are on PSG, and for good reason I know, let's hope that Ibra can put a few away!

it looks fine already, but they are giving space behind their defence line, other than that i believe, it is due 2-0!

4-2 today, not a bad day. especially the main bet of the day Bursaspor won. We should follow this team closely, as they look better than the start of the season in Turkey. See you tomorrow in another exciting soccer day...

Great sunday! Doubled up my account. Fenerbahce game was especially crazy, 1-1 at half time but nothing was happening the rest of the second half until Christian Baroni from Fenerbahce had a really good effort from outside the box at the very last minute. Considering it is also my team winning, i was going crazy at the house...Lets keep it going baby!!

Today there are many exciting games on the card, so far i have picked two games out for nice bets...

First of all, Montpellier - Arsenal game.

Arsenal start the season in top form, and especially in defence they seem much stronger than last years. Attack is always good and free-flowing in Arsenal, this season the duty is taken up by Podolski-Gervinho-Santi Cazorla. They are all in good form now.

Montpellier is the last French champions, a surprise one. It was their first title in their history, such a miracle. But it seems like the fairytale is ending. They start their league campaign very bad, and they are certainly missing their star of the last season, Giroud. Guess where he is playing? Arsenal!!!

I believe experience is one of the most important aspects in this competition, as mistakes are usually punished by the oppositions. It is not like your domestic league where you can make up for your mistakes easily, because you play 30-40 games. There is only 6 games played in the group stage, 3home-3 away, and especially home games you cannot stand losing.

Montpellier has zero(0) experience in this competition as a team, whereas Arsenal is one of the most frequent participant in this league. Plus Arsene Wenger is a french coach who know every little bit about French teams and players. The odds are good for Arsenal

    Arsenal Wins (2.2) (Stake 5)

    Arsenal -1 (4.5) (Stake 1)

    Borussia Dortmund - Ajax

Two attacking minded teams with players constantly think to go forward, and doing it accurately, this will be a good game to watch if you like to see a lot of goals.

Dortmund is unbeaten for 40 or so games in their domestic league but they lack experience as a Champions League team. The last time they played in this competition I was celebrating my 18th birthday, now i am 28 ...on the other hand, Ajax is one of the most frequent Champions League participator, however they are losing their top players to richer clubs every year.

Dortmund seems slight favorites here but odds for home win doesnt reflect any value to me, however a goals fest seems much more likely than anything.

    Over 2.5 goals (1.70) (Stake 5)

little note for those who have the chance to play live, u can wait and see how the game goes as i believe odds will raise up to 1.8 - 1.9 for over 2.5 goals. u should follow it tight though as these two can score anytime...Cheers!!

Great job so far rentongfb! I'm certainly liking the Arsenal pick as that's been a personal play of mine since Sunday...but I can only get the Ajax game at 3, so will stay away....which game in your mind has a better chance of going for 2 1H goals, Real/City or Ajax/Dortmund??

i personally stay away from first half bets. but just to make a prediction i would go with dortmund game. Real-city they have good defenders and too many world class players it might kinda get tangled up in the middle. however ajax and dortmund players are both open to mistakes at defence and more attacking minded.

overall, my advice is instead of playing that, just pick one game and watch it, and after 20 mins or so if its 0-0, start thinking about playing over 0.5 goals, thats what i will do with the real game considering no goals would happen in first 20 lol )

Dortmund played in the CL last year... you must've had a lot of drinks in a year to age 10 years

Like the pick do you think Dortmund can meet the handicap as well?

yeah, sorry about that fact, but still they are less experienced CL wise against Ajax. Actually after much more looking to statistic i am not so sure about Dortmund win. Here are some,

-Dortmund won only 1 game against dutch teams in last 7.
-Ajax only lost against Real Madrid away last year. They didnt lose at Zagreb, Lyon or Manchester.

Pretty tough, would still favor dortmund here but odds are low, over is a better selection imho

especially this dortmund loss pissed me off so bad, since dortmund missed a penalty kick earlier in the second half which could have easily brought more goals....anyways, losses happen sometimes, lets get back to this better tomorrow.

On Dnipro PSV OVer 2, 2.5.... Dnipro's line-up is attack heavy... They are playing Zozulya and Selezynov up front then Matheus, Konoplianka and Giuliano behind (all attacking midfielders) with Rotan as only holding midfielder (but he is more attack minded then defensive) so they are obviously looking to score goals. PSV's line-up is also quite attack minded...Mertens, Narsingh, Toivanen and Lens all playing and Hutchinson who is more of a midfielder playing at right back. Be shocked if this isnt 2-1 or 2-2.

Also playing Stuttgart -1...at home with key players playing such as Cacau and Ibesevic while Steaua are resting some key players such as Pintilii, key midfielder Tanase (3 goals in 8 games this season), Rusescu (scored 6 goals in 8 games so far), Adi (also scored 6 in 8 games).
