I am a Spurs fan so I am watching them really close. Harry considers them out already from the competition and he will definitely not play all his best players because he needs them in the domestic match in the weekend. He won't risk wearing them down. It is a tricky one because PAOK need to trash Kazan in order for Tottenham to have a chance. Paok are already qualified while the Russians will probably give it all to make sure they qualify.

Even the Spurs reserves can beat rovers by 3 goals on a good day, considering that Shamrock are well out of it so there is no point in them playing their best players... but it all comes down to what happens in Greece. If Kazan wins or draws, Spurs are out. If PAOK beat Kazan by 1 goal, Spurs need to win by 5 goals, if PAOK beat Kazan by 2 goals then Spurs only need to beat rovers by 4 to qualify...

to answer your question: even if they want to stay in it, their chances are so slim that they will probably just play for fun. I think it's important to look at the starting line-up for this one and if you see all the youngsters in the team Townsend, Caroll, Kane, Livermore then I wouldn't bet on the over 5.5

Actually I wouldn't place any kind bet on these 2 matches (Paok - Rubin Kazan, Shamrock Rovers - Tottenham)

They're going to play something similar to what they have played all the while in Europa League. Look at the lineups from those matches. Spurs have already said no Modric, Adebayor, etc. as usual when they travel.

Scott Parker, Luka Modric, Emmanuel Adebayor, Gareth Bale and Kyle Walker have been left in London, while Roman Pavlyuchenko misses out with a back injury.

it will be hard for tote then

They have great depth in their reserves, plenty of guys who can score. Don't think I would touch a side in this match, but I do like the over. Spurs can still score a few with what they have and Shamrock isn't likely to get blanked at home in their manager's last match with the club.

yeah... they scored paok as I remember. they will score tote too,
Harry Redknapp: "Michael's done a top-class job here and I'm sure he'd be a good choice for the Northern Ireland job if they go for him. It's going to be difficult to qualify but we're going to try to win the game and see what happens from there. I've left a few behind but I've still brought seven full internationals with me."

it is good news for over and tote

    Regarding Spurs, quote from Redknapp:

"Defoe is here, Gio Dos Santos, Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Kaboul, Pienaar, Niko, Sandro, they will all play. Danny Rose is an England Under-21 international.

"I've left five or six of the senior players behind - the likes of Modric, Parker, Adebayor - but we have a very good team.

Last time when these 2 played at White Hart Lane, Spurs were down 1 goal and things weren't looking as great as most would have expected. Harry brought Townsend in and that actually changed the game. The kid kept running behind defenders, getting crosses in the box, creating chances, he definitely changed the tempo and the edge in the game. They won 3-1 but my guess is that they wouldn't have done it without Townsend.

From the names I am seeing for today only Defoe could be a serious goal threat. Dos Santos and Niko are slightly out of form because of recent injuries so I wouldn't count on them for goals. If you want a lot of goals hope that Townsend and maybe even Falque will start. OR.... what about Lennon? Nobody mentioned him... was he also left in London or is he in the 15men squad that traveled for the match? If Lennon is in it's great news for those who want more goals

I would assume Lennon will be in the starting XI since he did not play against Stoke.

Kyle Walker getting a rest. A rarity. I wouldn't expect van der Vaart, Bale, Friedel to play either although they are looking for a 7 goal turnaround. Defoe will start.

It's not a disgrace considering they played a reserves team in the first 4 matches in the group phase.

I don't think Tottenham ever made any bones about it, Europa League was a nuisance to them schedule wise and they've played accordingly to that mind set. If they had any intention of making a run, they easily could have played stronger sides in all these matches and I think they would have been in better position today. The loss to PAOK last week was what really killed them. Everything else up to that point even with the weaker lineups they sent out, they were in line to advance still or at least not need a miracle set of events to unfold.

why does no one want to win the Europa cup? I assume there is money if you win. Maybe not as much as CL but money is money.
