One person is dead and two others are in critical condition after a shooting inside of a hotel room at The Mirage on the Las Vegas Strip Thursday night, according to police.
The shooting was reported at about 8:30 p.m., said Lt. Dori Koren with Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.
Initial details indicated three people had been shot, and one of those people was dead.
Officers arrived at The Mirage about a minute after the initial call and ultimately found one person dead and two others suffering from gunshot wounds, Koren said. Police and security began providing the two victims medical attention, and they were taken to UMC with critical injuries.
Investigators believe there were four people inside a hotel room. There was an altercation, during which one person shot the other three.
The person killed was described as a man in his 40s or 50s. Koren said the other two victims were women.
The suspect, described as a Black male adult with a heavier build, remains at large. Investigators have "good information, good leads that we're working," according to Koren, who said he was confident the shooter would be caught.
