I respect what your saying.. This isn't a gun rights or diversity debate. It's whether or not the wild wild west mentality that many Americans have about other countries is justified. The fear is media driven. Every city in the world has bad areas. Would you walk down back streets of Chicago or Detroit in the middle of the night. If your answer is no which it should be then don't do it in Cancun, San Jose, or any other Vacation destination. It is common sense. I have a home in San Salvador-El Salvador. After visiting there for over 20 years I have never had a whiff or trouble. I also do not go to the gang infested areas. Common Sense. I am not saying trouble can not find me, what I am saying is it can find me just as easily at my home in the US as it can at my home in San Salvador. What happened to Tony is he was targeted. Sorry, Just saw this after I finished my latest post. If you feel its political please delete it as I can not find a way to do it myself. Will refrain from doing it in the future.I totally understand that and I appreciate you explaining your point of view which is completely valid. But from our side we've seen a select group of posters continue to post things that we're just not going to allow in any discussion about Tony at this point and that was even after both 5Dimes statement and SBR's. Even worse, some people seem to get their rocks off by posting repeatedly in several threads the same thing in multiple posts and that's going to get people turfed from here. I was just trying to give a heads up because several have already been put on either temporary or permanent bans because they've been warned and still want to attempt to get that 2 seconds of e-glory if anyone even sees it before the post is deleted. Pro or non Pro, doesn't matter how long someone has been here or what their interactions may have been with Tony... just thought I'd give the heads up before guys keep crying they got banned because they ignored my first warning in here
It's just not adding up. I live here in CR. I listen to the media here, and I know people who are quite connected in the sportsbook industry here. This is not what it seems, at all. Absolutely, it sucks what has allegedly happened, but this stinks to high heaven. Is CR police qualified to do this type of negotiation with kidnappers? Could they locate him from his iphone, apple watch, fitbit, car navigation of the Porche, etc? How are the kidnappers making contact with the family? I hope he is found soon but maybe the FBI needs to get involved since he is a US citizen. They have the technology to find the kidnappers and bring them to justice.
Such a sad thing, I have dealt with Tony a few times at 5dimes. He has always been great with me, I hope this ends good.

Intrigued by the post. Curious where you are going with it or what angle you think is at work here because I agree, this is weird. Plenty of big money bookies in CR and this is the first I am aware of where someone got kidnapped? And Tony didn't carry a weapon?
I do hope he is all good for him and his family. We can all bicker about bets, money or his attitude but this is someone's life and whether you liked the guy or not, there are people who love him that are beside themselves every hour of every day.

It would be the long-term that would worry me. In the first few weeks after something like this, I would expect those in charge would go the extra mile to guarantee business as usual.
What would concern me is that if this was a horrible tragedy, those that remain would probably have second thoughts at remaining there, and that is when the problems begin.
I hope the guy is alright. No one wants this, but selling a narrative that "hey it happened 3 weeks ago and you dumbasses didn't know better" is not all that helpful.

Many bettors have been burned in the past due to various circumstances that spiral out of control extremely fast. After SBR buried their head in the sand with Betislands you can't expect people to sit idly by based on a statement. There is a huge difference to being #20 vs #250 in the pending payout line.
If there are truly multiple owners or if Tony is found this minor run will only strengthen their reputation within the industry. Run on banks are terrible for the book involved but in the end whose money is it??

I don't know what went down. All I know are local rumors and what the local media is saying. It's only speculation beyond that. Local media has said a lot. Reading between the lines, and some of the information that has come out, tells me that this seems strange. Maybe I'm wrong. Either way, I sincerely hope that Tony and his family are okay.

Just curious: Is there a reward for information leading to his rescue? Because that is what I suppose to happen in a scenario like this. Offer a million dollar to all gangsters of CR and it won't take long to get substantial information.
