    I watched the movie BOOKIES on tv last night

    Wow, what a bad movie.
    Anyone else seen it?

    First bet this trio of college kids take is for the Phillies at 15.5.
    Thats right, not the Eagles, not the 76ers.... the Phillies to win by 15.5.

    Bookies is worth seeing once. Not the greatest flick ever but is good for a few laughs. I liked how they did the settling up putting money in the books at the library - that's pretty classic.

    Some great ones there. Let It Ride is easily an all-time classic - anyone going to a track a few times can relate to EVERY character in that movie. So many funny scenes and lines.

    The Color of Money is always one of my favorites, too. Was just on at 2am the other night and I had to stay tuned in the whole way. "You got to have brains and you got to have balls"

    the bet's not on the phillies....the bets on Philly. philly's = philly is. the same way i just said the bet's instead of the bet is. "philly's minus 15.5" or something like that.

    philly is slang for philadelphia.

    There was a movie where these two guys were always betting against each other. It did not matter what they bet on, they just needed action. I only saw one small clip, I think they were sitting in the outfield stands of a baseball game and they were betting with each other about the next batter getting a hit or not, or a hr or not, or smething like that.

    Pretty sure it was a comedy.

    Anybody know the name of this movie? I would like to watch it.

    It's not a movie but there's an episode of Seinfeld where Kramers bets the Knicks to win by 37 or more points for +1000. He wins the bet after getting into a fight with Reggie Miller who was ejected from the game.
