As far as the movie bookies go, i burst out laughing when I saw this thread. I just recently saw it on tv and watched it. Bad but you keep watching if u bet, which we all do.
The one kid who ***** everything up who used to be on roseanne back in the day made me want to puke. He buys corvette and loses his mind. I would have knocked him square the **** out and told him hes out.

This is the most degenerate of all gambling films. It is based on the true story of a Canadian banking exec who stole millions from his bank in order to fund his gambling habit.
If Casino is considered a gambling movie, then Deerhunter is a gambling movie.
Casino is a great mob movie though.

In the Deerhunter there were scenes of the game Russian Roulette. Russian Roulette is a potentially lethal game of chance in which participants place a single round in a revolver, spin the cylinder, place the muzzle against Their head and pull the trigger.
Therefore this movie drama had gambling scenes in it, but it really wasn't a gambling movie.
This is similar to Casino - another movie drama that had some gambling scenes it it, but it really wasn't a gambling movie, it was a mob movie.

You did yourself no favors by going into more detail. You just look dumber. If you think a Russian Roulette scene is a vietnam movie is equal in gambling to CASINO, well then you are beyond the short bus.
One is vietnam drama with one scene that I guess if you are retarded you could call it gambling. The other is the story of the CREATION of Las Vegas. Yes its a mob movie but its also about Ace Rothstein A GAMBLER, IN LAS VEGAS. Get a clue.

they have yet to make a good SPORTS betting movie. Casino was the best that had sports betting in it. but was not the main topic. Two for the Money pretty much sucked ass. Rounders and some of the others are poker movies, not SPORTS betting. To make a good one, it will have to have a great story line and sports betting be a big part of it, but not the main focus. It is hard to duplicate the sports betting "magic" on the silver screen.

If you think a Russian Roulette scene is (in, not the word is) a vietnam (Vietnam is a country, thus capitalized) movie is equal in gambling to CASINO, well then you are beyond the short bus. Where did I say equal? Gambling in Casino is as relevent to the main plot as gambling, Russian Roulette, is in Deerhunter. It's not.

The other is the story of the CREATION of Las Vegas. When Casino begins Las Vegas has already been "created". The plot of the movie is how the mob influenced the evolution of Las Vegas. The movie is set in the 70's; didn't Bugsy Siegel build the Flamingo in the 40's?

Because he was such a good gambler the mob made him manager of Tangiers Casino. What are your favorite scenes with Ace Rothstein - the gambler? Was the movie about Ace Rothstein - the gambler or Ace Rothstein - the manager of the Tangiers Hotel and Casino? The movie is about 3 hours long there must have been many scenes about Ace the Gambler, but I only remember a few short scenes where it was barely mentioned. I mostly remember where the reference in the movie is about Ace the Manager.

Do you try that kind of stuff in the real world? I highly doubt it. A more civil response would have been more in order. I have never treated people with the type of disrespect that you have - on the internet or in the real world, unless they got the ball rolling like you did. Many of your other posts show that you are a pretty good capper, but that doesn't give you the right to treat people like shit.
Basically - Treat people the way you would want to be treated.

Owning Mahowny is an excellent movie and shows the true addiction to this lovely disease. It's a great movie, it never gets old, I have seen it many times.
Jesus, perhaps I'm getting old, but no one mentioned The Hustler.
